Prediction: if we hand Russian USD assets to Ukraine, it will destroy confidence in the buck. Literally every country who “might be an adversary” will dump any US treasury reserves they have before it becomes a problem - starting with China. Wouldn’t you?
If the Biden-Handlers are stupid and self-destructive enough to do this, I think I’ll go short long dated US treasury bonds.
A secondary effect might be the destruction of more regional banks due to rising long yields - due to higher “unrealized losses.”
The Handlers appear to be desperate to launder more money through Ukraine. I’m not sure what hold Ukraine has over them - but they are ready to destroy the dollar and the regionals over it.
