Integrity In Reporting

I’m not going to review the Chimney Rock story that you posted with the entire tweet but I should. I will later on the private side of this forum.

At the time there was a lot of information coming out about how terrible the government response was and how unprepared FEMA was in taking care of the people, especially in remote communities.

The closed air space, confiscating supplies, preventing even drones from flying, private helicopters from bringing in supplies or rescuing survivors, the failure of the government to send in their training military to provice assistance. It all seemed credible, yet incredible.

The conversation you posted seemed credible given the time yet it smelled off. I can’t recall if anyone said anything at the time but I’ll review that thread later. I am sure you had your doubts yet you wanted to get the information out in case it was true. I feel disappointed as you do about the story and this resulting blow back.

There aren’t many US news organizations that actually only post the news and facts. They routinely post spin and commentary and opinion rather than report the facts. Most news sources in America seem to follow the same script word for word in many cases. It’s meant to control us and it comes from the highest levels of your government and intelligence services. I don’t like it at all but this is the world we live in.

What I like about the members of Peak Prosperity is the high level of trust we have in this community, especially among the members who regularly post stories and comments. We share information and almost all of it is valuable and honest. There are members here who are live or come from all the corners of the world. There are members who are well off and there are members who are barely scraping by day by day. There are people with great life experiences and stories to tell and there are several that are experts and very specialized in their trade which can range from nano-scale to even looking at the military flights around portions of the country or around the world for “clues”. Almost all the information is actionable and interesting. And almost all leads to further comments.

It’s very rare to have off the wall comments and misinformation in this community, as far as I can tell. Most people post the sources of their information or will post their sources when challenged. Then one can review the source of the information and judge by themselves what is factual, what is bravado or enhanced and the bias of the source or site. There are a number of sites that people quote or post from that I do not trust, similarly they post comments and stories from Twitter/X that I can review and see the often clear bias of the author. I too have my own biases in the stories the I read and the comments that I post. We all do.

For the most part our private paid membership forum is a civil place. There are best several dozen regular posters and perhaps more than 100 people who comment only a few times and rarely. Perhaps there is hundreds more who may comment once or sometimes like the rare post and may read stories from time to time.

If you reading this comment and you feel that you would fit in with this group, I highly suggest that you join as a member and hopefully read the stories, like comment and share your ideas. We can use more voices here to amplify the truth and filter the chatter and fill in the holes. I hope you like to read and write and are not afraid to speak your mind.

We all need to speak our mind and share our thoughts - while we still can. I am in the 30% in this public that believes our freedoms and our freedom are getting destroyed and this part of an agenda.
