When I lived in FLA there were places like they where kids would congregate.
Locally there are parking lots where kids will hang out. Large parking lots where there was once a Kmart or some other closed down big box store.
I think there is a trend toward kids hanging out places. Board game cafes, and even vintage video game arcades are a thing in this region. Kids are also dancing taking dance classes, and forming garage bands again.
Here’s a perfect example of what the college diploma scam has done to young people. A 21 year old went for a computer science degree. She says she did really well but her job never materialized. It only got her an interview at Chipotle’s.
BTW, my vet bill last week for a tooth cleaning with extractions was $2500. Now I know why? It’s become impossible to own more than one pet. I don’t know how people do it. But then again, do they really need all this treatment? We now do bi-annual visits when it used to be annual. A lot of it is shots which are now showing themselves to be, guess what, not necessarily safe. I have no memory of our pets growing up, ever going to the vet.
Every aspect of life has become just too much on every level and people I know with children still at home are completely exhausted. We need to re-think everything from the ground up.
A dentist in Los Algodones did my molar extractions for $150 per tooth, 4 months later, did implants for $800/tooth + $100 for 3D xrays, and in 4 months later will do crowns for $650/tooth.
It’s so much cheaper in Mexico. As you probably know, one dental implant can set you back for as much $8,000 in the US. Crowns without insurance cost around $2K. Root canals several thousand because most dentist today only do the simple stuff. They send out the tricky root canals to specialists where they can charge upwards of $3K.
@friday…truly the only down side of having a dog or cat. They just dont live long enough. Its their only fault.
Id love to have a dog again…not sure i could afford…but i think about it everyday. I miss mine. Theyve been dead for years, but id give anything to have them back.
I just put a crown on a tooth and it cost me about 1300.00 I tried a zirconia crown this time. I had a temporary filling put in back in 1991 to buy me some time to save up for a crown and just now got it. I guess it balanced out. I called that dentist office and the guy is still in practice. I told the receptionist I had finally put the crown on a tooth he had temporarily filled, and related the details. She said that the story would make the dentist’s day. He had tried out some new materials he had just received training on back then.
