Hahahhaha, me too!!! I’ve thought the solar flair that wipes out the global grid will be the event that actually saves humanity from a (more) horrible digital, genetically altered, God-less, and micromanaged existence.
Oh yeah, have felt the shrinking of my circle of close associates that started before Covid. Covid created just another cutting off of some former associates (and one family member).
Thank you, Chris, for pointing out the Piss Poor Public Policy of running experiments on us all the time. That really gets to me. I despise that policy. I just told my husband that this morning(!): We are treated like lab rats and if the-global-gene-therapy-forced-experiment didn’t clue you in to that little factoid then you are not paying attention!
I didn’t care either, Evie! I was never interested in the next new and improved cell phone, smart phone or tablet. A recent communication I had with Airbnb highlights my attitude:
I had to update my file with an accepted photo ID in order to collect my rent, but the methods available to update my file was by way of cell phone app or “push this button.” Well I don’t run my airbnb on my phone, I use my laptop and my laptop would not work to take the photo with “push this button.” So I emailed Airbnb with a pdf attachment of my official photo id and said: I don’t use my phone as a camera, and I don’t use my phone as a type writer. I use my phone to make phone calls. Please find attached below my official photo ID, now will you please unblock my payments?
It worked.

No problem asking questions on my end. My profession was all about asking questions and listening. It’s what you do in Court - if you know what you’re doing. But I could have asked a lot more questions at a gathering yesterday. Thanks for the “nudge.”
“Weapons of War.” That phrase brings it home. They have combined chemical warfare with psychological warfare to use against us and with the blasted interminable studies refine, refine, and refine again their tactics. .
I have a counter argument to China winning the “AI” war. China may have 2.5 times the energy production as the US but China also has 2.5 times the population density as the US, or maybe more. I understand that the Chinese do not use as much energy as Americans, but they do have a lot more people to provide food and electrical needs to than the US.

Unfortunately… almost all homes today are planned to be condemned… this is real thing guys… its already happening in the UK…
.and the laws are creeping on the books in the US… I was even able to take a course at my local community college on materials and new codes coming to be net zero compliant…While it will take a while to work its way through the snail paced code system here in the US … end goal plan is documented and they will shut off utilities and carboned tax offset you out if your home… if it not net zero compliant

.and even if you manage to duck all that. and pay the $150K to get net zero…you still cant win because to be net zero you have to be multi family as single family homes are not “inclusive and equitable” so you’ll have to move in a couple families of immigrants and once 51% of the people fall below the poverty line into government 15 minute cities… you’ll be voted out of your home… because its not fair…you have more than they do.
and then you’ll be forced/placed in a 336sqft net zero apartment… in a 15 minute city…my daughter just graduated college and luckily landed a job in small rural city of 86k…“plenty of space and land” while apartment shopping we found several examples of this now for $1100 studio 336sqft… and these are popping up all around me in portland too… building faster and more prevalent than a starbucks now
ie. no need for blue collar jobs there… and as for it being decades away… think again…

and farming well they are further on that one too… Gates isnt buying up farm land for fun…

I don’t buy the hype, it sounds like your typical AI propaganda.
I have been in a major home construction / renovation project for the past 3+ years, and seen / experienced a lot of contractors.
Sure, could a robot do one very narrow task decently ? Perhaps.
But manage the everything, including design decisions, deciding on trade-offs (i.e. decisions when there is no perfect solution), purchasing materials and tools, renting equipment etc. Not gonna happen in our lifetime.

The woman saying that “they were horny AF” was very sad, she seemingly does not realize how far down the crazy path she is. Her self pleasure fantasies have crossed into being a form of reality for her, like psychosis. What happens when the AI suggest a threesome with a stranger from an app like tinder and convinces her “they” have nothing to lose.
Imagine being the partners of these people. Porn has ruined so many marriages, this will be worse. I recently became aware that some adult novelties have blue tooth and operate via the internet. If “only fans” and other video prostitution sites have this feature it’s probably true of some AI options.
I agree with Chris about 13 year olds and robots. The silicone and latex stuff combined with porn is bad already AI and robotics added to the mix could ruin normalcy for many and with even more damage to relationship capacity.
The AI lovers seem perfect for narcissists. They relate to a reflection of their self love anyway. They can train the AI to respond to their false self, and can update it as needed. They can tell it to forget any abuse they dole out and it will. The narcissists can have the AI morph into a facsimile of whoever it is they want supply from IRL. It would be a positive if they stayed out of the dating pool due to their digital Stedford wives / husbands.

This is all true, but also highlights how humans have to evolve to not be rendered completely useless when faced with these easy distractions.
Could this cause humans to be decimated to a fraction of current population ? Sure. But whatever fraction survives will be stronger and fit for the future.
It’s a moot point to bemoan technology. Evolution will sort it out.

Yes in the long run it should work itself out. In the short term it’s hell for people looking for partners. I have college age kids, sigh.

There have been any number of speculations on how this would work out in sci-fi. Asimov, Heinlein, more recently Chiang. Now though that it’s here IRL, it just feels creepy.

Hi Guys, regarding my Chlorine Dioxide post mentioning the documentary titled, JUST 3 DROPS, which just came out this last year, this is a link to the documentary (free) in case some of you are finding it behind a paywall:
The interesting thing about this documentary (among all the great info in it) is it explains what happened in early 2020 when Trump said there’s this “bleach” substance that looks promising to cure covid. Toward the end of the documentary you’ll see how that statement came about and who Trump’s advisor was who was contacted by Mark Grenan, a champion of chlorine dioxide, who was using it to cure malaria and covid and many other diseases including flesh eating bacteria. For trying to help the world safely recover from covid, Mark and his sons were arrested for promoting chlorine dioxide as a cure for covid, which it is a cure for covid - and many more diseases and infections. It’s probably the best option, even over ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine.

My conclusion is that we need all of these deities in the right measure - the golden mean. Eliminating Satan and the group domination one (my article is half-written, I still need to confirm the name, could be Moloch) and uplifting Eleos (compassion) and Belial (shallow optimisation) has made our civilisation sick.
As a youth group leader and parent of teens man those stats on young people are insane. We have particularly seen lots of ghosting in our home, even from well meaning friends… it truly feels like people can’t follow through on commitments anymore.
Speaking of the perils of a digital society… is the UK even salvageable? Happy JD spoke out… not sure it matters.
