So It's Back To First Principles (Part 1)

Thank you for making a contribution on this forum with some very helpful information on this forum.

I have downloaded the video, zoomed in to take a closer look at it. Cory Comperatore is still standing when the first 3 audio shots are fired.

The video cuts off when the 4th audio shot is fired. However, about a millisecond or 2 before, Comperatore does appear to very slowly move down. I cannot be sure.

Hope this helps you.

Thanks for that download link. I have seen a lower quality version of that in the monster 200+ playlist that ADudeYouKnow has, but this is - what - 1920 high by 1080 wide?

Marvelous high res. Be sure to uncheck video/always fit window when watching.

I’m still looking at the first still or two.

You may have forgotten(or never knew) that sound lags behind pictures, so the phone’s lens may have seen gunshot before the phone’s microphone heard it.
But, great job once again in steering the thread into useless ‘evidence’.

It’s because the speed of light is much greater than the speed of sound that we often look brilliant before we look stupid!

Your sentence could be more ‘parallel’ if you re-phrase, “we often look brilliant, before we sound stupid”.
Thinking you may have seen Comperatore hit as you heard Shot 3 is difficult, because the sound delay could point, but not believably, at Shot 2 hitting him, and I’m convinced Shot 2 hit David Dutch.

I’ve looked at it in slow-mo, stared at 3x blown up stills, and just can’t tell.

Cory’s head should top out at about where the white and blue stripes in the bunting on the top rail meet. Alternately, the top of his head is about at knee level of the guys standing at the top (based on the video put up on X by Oliver Alexander) and I just can’t clearly see anyone in a dark shirt there.

Sorry.

However, I don’t trust the audio. It must be checked whether it is sync.

(Meanwhile I work on local issue - technical investigation. Cognitive dissonance. People try pompously cover their mistakes, dodging, distruct etc.)

Yes, I think so.

Is that something on the roof or just pixelation?

These 3 guys are undercover officers. I am still not sure about the guy in re

d and the woman.

I did not know Corey had a camcorder in his hand. Was he shot for filming something he should not have seen? Its that corner of the bleachers stand again.

You found that tool that zooms the VLC player too eh? Unfortunately, there’s a big loss of quality when you zoom it.

I found a function: video/zoom that can double the size, but then one is looking at the middle of the screen. For the #6 video Phiphi made available, the north bleachers move out of view just as shots start. There doesn’t seem to be a way to move the view around the window.

I have a 2560 by 1440 resolution monitor that I can rotate to portrait mode. That can get the north stands for the first part of the shots. But staring at the very top of a 27" monitor in portrait mode isn’t fun (I know, I know, it’s a hard life /sarc).

I think I’ll stick with capturing the screen, popping it into irfanview and going from there. If anyone has any better ideas as to how to watch these videos zoomed and clear, let me know.

I went back and found this guy in Pearson’s body cam video. He’s certainly not very impressive. He chews gum, squints, and is hiding behind the crane truck cab for several minutes. He brandishes a gun and has a big flinch reflex at one point.

It’s hard to believe there’s an arm in that left sleeve, but there is. I think he’s wearing a suit that just way too big for him.

This trio just seems silly, hiding behind the truck and peeking out to see snipers, when one of the counter snipers can be seen up on the roof behind them, and there are SWAT guys everywhere.

Anyone recognize this insignia?

probably he filmed the barn top CS

If Comperatore is still standing, filming, just before the series of five rapid-fire shots, the story of him trying to protect his family is a legend?

I saved the video as a.mp4 in directory all.
Then, Konsole(Debian Linux):
cd all
ffmpeg -copyts -ss 00:01:11.000 -i a.mp4 -to 00:01:15.000 -map 0 -c copy c.mp4
and then
ffmpeg -i c.mp4 -c:v png %03d.png
to make 120 whole frames to look through.
Then found the 1 I could see, and opened with GIMP, and didn’t try to enlarge anything:
