Musk is clearly not too good at backing away from the keyboard sometimes, and both were frustrated.
Trump has been quite a bit more restrained, but he screwed up when he said that Musk had access to the “Big Beautiful Bill” before it went to the House. He needs to slow down the unscripted press conferences, perhaps.
Hopefully they can patch things up to the point where they can at least work together, and they don’t seem to be insulting each other, so that’s good.

I wonder which option will be the one that wins for why he posted and is now retracting what he said.
I saw other channel mention that Tesla board demands he puts 40hr a week, way more effort to that company. So there is pressure.
That is understandable as couple months in DOGE caused backlash in tesla sales.
