Geopolitics

Following Donald Trump’s election victory, international reactions have varied. China and Russia have expressed cautious optimism. China hopes for continued relations based on mutual respect, while Russia acknowledges the current low point in US-Russia relations but suggests potential improvements. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that any changes in foreign policy would be observed post-inauguration. Trump’s victory speech, which emphasized ending wars, reportedly resonated with Russia, particularly his criticism of Ukraine’s President Zelensky and the suggestion to reduce US financial support to Kiev.

In the Middle East, reports suggest that Iran-backed Houthi rebels have declared a ceasefire following Trump’s win, halting a year of attacks on commercial and military vessels in the Red Sea. This development, though unconfirmed by official sources, has sparked discussions on social media about the potential impact of Trump’s presidency on regional conflicts. Additionally, a senior Hamas official has called for an end to Israel’s military actions in Gaza, urging support for a Palestinian state. Despite Trump’s strong alliance with Israel during his previous term, he has criticized Netanyahu’s handling of the current conflict, advocating for a swift resolution.

US Politics

Trump’s election has sparked notable developments in agriculture and health policy. Joel Salatin, a prominent advocate for sustainable farming, has reportedly been considered for a USDA role as part of Trump and RFK Jr.’s “Make America Healthy Again” campaign. This initiative aims to reform food and health policies and has gained support from figures like Rep. Thomas Massie. Massie, a supporter of the PRIME Act—which seeks to decentralize meat processing regulations—has expressed his readiness to back these reforms. However, Massie has refuted reports that he was offered the role of Secretary of Agriculture, clarifying that no such offer has been made.

The potential appointment of RFK Jr. as Secretary of Health and Human Services could signal a major shift in health policy, challenging current pharmaceutical practices. This appointment, alongside other proposed reforms, underscores the administration’s focus on reshaping governance and economic priorities to promote a healthier, more self-reliant America.

Joel Salatin has also called for bold changes to the nation’s economic strategy, including reducing federal spending and increasing tariffs to boost domestic production. While unconventional, his proposals reflect a broader desire to empower citizens and realign national priorities toward sustainability and resilience. These shifts suggest a transformative vision for the country’s future.

Health

In Canada, the Winnipeg Lab scandal continues to develop, with allegations of security breaches involving the transfer of deadly viruses to China’s Wuhan Institute of Virology. The Canadian government’s handling of the situation has raised national security concerns, prompting demands for transparency and accountability.

Meanwhile, FEMA’s construction of camps for disaster responders has raised questions amid concerns about toxic mud in affected areas. Volunteers are crucial in recovery efforts, despite challenges posed by hazardous conditions and limited resources. The community faces a housing crisis, with FEMA’s financial assistance reportedly falling short of needs. Efforts to provide practical support and sustainable solutions are ongoing, emphasizing the importance of long-term recovery and resilience.

Wow, this is fast if it is really just Trump winning that caused this.

His historical look is interesting. Tariffs instead of other taxes. Yes it will raise prices of some goods but add huge incentive to add jobs domestic… afterall this is way all “poor” economies kickstarted their economy to wealthier path… it cant be done without tariffs.
Is early 1900s society possible? Not as such. Step to 2020 like farmer proposes would be back on track.

I remember the day Reagan assumed office, the Iranian hostages came home. It was quite dramatic and I’ve always wondered, what the hell did Reagan say to the Ayitolla (I have no idea how to spell that and I don’t feel like looking it up)?

Are we seeing a similar moment emerging?

I could see that… it comes more to rhetoric and “PR” as that benefits Trump but Obama didnt like to brag or mention in public how in his term drone strikes and catching Osama happened… it is bad look in democrat side. So yes it works as deterrent simply that someone tells if you do this bombs will rain.

Sure this can be fumbled and done wrong but it is aligned with persona, not many would dare to test if it is true.

Next thing: if Trump can manage moneyflows, that is way bigger deterrent to many terrorists now living luxury life. Im sure there can be lot done in this aspect, it just aint as “sexy” newspaper article than bombs and explosions.
(In some podcast Trump explained how in first term he did deal somewhere in world with conflicting parties and used economic measures to make them stop… some task that cannot be talked in public in detail but is part of presidential duties)

Im more hesitant to see any Iran/Russia/China real progress as they are stubborn to challenge western economic might now. Lot more work is needed there.

That was not Bin Laden. He is actually in the Times Square M&M store right now, probably has gotten some minor plastic surgery. (“Hello Kitty” store would have been much funnier, but it’s not there anymore :rage:)
