Captioned in French? It would be good for my diction and multi-lingual skills (however in short supply mine are)
East of the Appalachians. South West of Richmond VA .
The really scary thing is that we will have an event that will combine the 2008/2009 meltdown with COVID lockdown measurers. Mass unemployment and mass foreclosures but if you step out of line and ask why the perps aren’t being punished the FBI will show up at your door. Or you will be sent to the gulag.
Trump (and maybe Vance) is the only bad US politician. Forget that when he was merely a billionaire, and a friend of Epstien, he was fully acceptable and promoted by the left. Those are “memory hole” memories best written down and dropped into a shoot to be burned.
….we have always been at war with Oceana.
The first thing that popped into my head for your location was: the piedmont.
We’d need quite the pony express system to barter, but then there’s the banditos so we’d need a stagecoach with someone riding shotgun, fresh horses, feed, layover towns…
Wow.
Want to talk about evidence for a crack-up boom? Here it is…this puts 1929 to shame:
Along that train of thought…
Have silver. Will trade for mini skid. Preferably with a brush grapple or something similar. Pacific Northwest. Lol
Have mini skidster (& diesel mechanic neighbor), not trading. Have water/filters, hopefully warmth. Food (eventually) may become the big barter item.
Food is the easiest place to prepare.
Japan is scroomed.
We are all scroomed. This is not going to stay contained for long.
Yep. Japan is just the first fiat domino to fall.
Location, location, location. Not much food produced w/o water. When the power goes out and the pumps stop pumping, those ~5M souls in the Phx Metro area and the numerous irrigated farms will be in a world of hurt.
Water doesn’t flow downhill, it flows to money. I guess the creek below the cabin could be diverted (some 7 mi. upstream) and guys with shotguns protecting the supply? It’s a two mile hike or ski up (1000’ vert.) to a so far permanent water supply. Water is heavy.
In terms of having extra on hand for barter, there is still time to acquire it and most can do so affordably. Rice and beans and beans and rice, gotta have variety.
Yes, scrap silver has low premiums right now, I’d jump on that if I didn’t;t already have a lot of it.
Agreed, freezing more rice now in the garage (kills the unhatched critters) + stocked up on Hatch, NM chile (red and green). Variety is the spice of life.
My assumption is that we will either soon have:
- stock market crash/banking crisis followed by nuclear money printing
- nuclear money printing to stave off stock market crash/banking crisis.
What I wouldnt give for a crystal ball on what the order of operations is gonna be
I am of the philosophy that spice is the spice of life ![]()
No freezer required. Single serv pak, Tyler would approve.
One-hit green chile servings even and El Pinto has Red Chile sauce as well.
I can’t recall how long I’ve been grilling fresh Chile and I’m not even a New Mexican. I eat it on most everything. I’m up to grilling about 1 1/2 bushels each season + then a number of jugs of the chopped green chile & red chile sauce.
