So far so good here. The local No Kings event doesnāt seem to have happened. Maybe it was the lurking thunderstorms that kept them away.
Iāll keep a casual eye on things until mid-afternoon, but with the event scheduled to end 45 minutes ago and nothing happening, time for lunch.

In my town a lil over 100 peopleat the event. 150 tops. Stayed on their sidewalk. That was around 1030. Drove by again an hour or so. Started drizzling maybe 10 people still there. Garden needed the rain and sent all the Karens packing. Win-win.
I wonder if they want so many small towns to have these rallys which they suspect will be peaceful. And direct the bulk of their resources into big blue cities where they can cause the most havoc. In hopes people percieve them as peaceful as they were in their towns.

I should have said Israel but perhaps I should have said Zionist but I wrote Jewish. To me they are basically all the same. They are different as you point out and there are many Jews that donāt want anything to do with Israel (at their peril) and there are Zionists that arenāt Jewish and probably more non-Jewish Zionists than Jewish Zionists. There may even be more Iranian muslims that are Zionists than Jewish Zionists.
For the purpose of this conversation, I will conflate Israel Zionist and Jewish together. Maybe this is wrong but it is the feeling I get from many on this forum.
As to the government of Israel, they are doing what they deem is right to protect their own people. I can respect that. They are not infallible. They are in a war for the safety and security of their own people. Thatās what their government should do.
As a state, Israel/Judea is on the same land that they were 3000 years ago. They speak the same language as they did 3000 years ago.
If you start a war, make sure you can win it. If you want to start a war with Israel, be certain that it is worth your time. Israel is going to do everything they can to survive. It is a smart country and a very powerful country.
Regarding the Islamic Republic of Iran, they have been causing problems exporting their radical version of Islam to Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and Yemen. Funding proxy groups to fight on their behalf. israel has dismantled much of this infrastructure and destroyed for the most part, Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houtis. Even Syria has collapsed and remade that part of the Middle East. With US government encouragement, there are some low lever peace talks between Israel and Syria.
Iām not gonna fault Israel for taking on Iran. Their intelligence and strikes have been accurate and actually quite breathtaking. They are doing things that other countries are afraid to do. Israel has had precision intelligence on exactly which room in which apartment on what floor that they needed to target and Israel did that very precisely.
I think they are doing the dirty work that many in the region and around the world would like to solve. Iran is a dangerous problem. They are not entirely rational, they work on an extreme interpretation of Islam, the most āpeacefulā of religions. Many other countries in that area, UAE, Saudi Arabia feel safer with Israel than they do with Iran. If Iran went nuclear, they would probably as well in short time. For over 40 years Iran has been publicly threatening Israel that if they had a nuclear bomb they would use it on Israel which they call a single bomb country. I donāt think Israel can take the chance to let them get a nuclear capability. In fact, I donāt think the world can take that chance.
If the world wonāt act to stop Iran, at least Israel will. Thank you Israel, I think you made the world a safer place.
The sorties from israel wonāt last too long, the country cannot sustain them for more than a week or so. I hope that Israel will accomplish much of the destruction of the nuclear capabilities of Iran.
I hope that the people of Iran will overthrow their evil Islamic dictatorship and find freedom. They are a great people with an ancient culture that is being destroyed by a small religious dictatorship. Maybe this time the US government will support the protests this time unlike in 2014.
In the comment that you highlighted in your video in which I called the worst take Iāve seen from him, his reply was after all I read here on PP, why do I have the contrarian view point. If this forum became only an echo chamber, there would not be any value in it. Perhaps someone needs to have an alternative perspective and push back. There are many here that donāt want to push back publicly but in private write to me and tell me that they agree with me.
Perhaps I was the first to push back against the toxic anti-zionist misinformation. I have seen several others also start to comment. Iām not the only one.
There was a video that you made several years ago before the events of October 7th. In this video you actually praised Israel and the fact that Israel will go out their way to help and rescue Jews (not even citizens) wherever they are. You even said something like, it was a good tribe to be part of.
Even you blame much of the ills in the world to Zionism. I think it is wrong. Iāve certainly been turned off by it as have others and this has also encouraged others to become more vocal anti-zionists/anti-Israeli/anti-Jewish. I will state my mind and push back against this when I feel the time and effort are worth it. Or maybe just for lols.
I used to be much more active here in the forums but alot of the discussion here has become distasteful and I find as a whole this less useful for my life. I still love this tribe and want to be part of this forum. Others have writtten directly to me to pause their time here or left completely. Itās just a shame.
I donāt like or want war. I donāt think anyone like war. But sometimes you need to go to war to prevent even worse wars in the future.

The No Kings event in Savannah was a nothingburger. My guess about 150 people. Savannah is a black-majority city but the attendees were overwhelmingly white. It was the usual unholy alliance: lots of 8647 folks, a very large anti-ICE contingent (Signs: Iāll Take my Sweet Tea Warm Because Fuck ICE, ICE should melt, Savannah is too hot for ICE, ICE Melts in Savannah), a lot of Trump TACO protestors, a fair amount of gay pride folks (definately the most attractive and colorful), radical atheists, some Save Our Democracy people, a surprisingly large contingent of white-haired citizens, a few jihadis, and a couple of veterans. The first thought in my head was it was funny to see such a melanin-challenged group so vehemently anti-ICE. And the second thought: No Kings, but definately some Queens.
I was in a real riot once, in Paris. This was not that. Todayās attendees were all very soft, like they were made out of cream cheese.
