Albertan Independence, HHS Overhaul, and Ivermectin Over-The-Counter

Canadian Politics

Canada’s caretaker Prime Minister Mark Carney has sparked controversy by declaring an end to the longstanding relationship with the United States, suggesting a shift in Canada’s foreign policy approach. Some analysts view this as a symbolic gesture rather than a substantive policy change, given the deep economic and security ties between the two nations.

In Alberta, Premier Danielle Smith criticized Liberal and NDP policies, accusing them of weakening Canada’s economy and security. Smith emphasized Alberta’s efforts to protect jobs and engage with U.S. officials to prevent tariffs, contrasting this with the NDP’s alleged inaction. Meanwhile, Alberta lawyer Jeffrey Rath is advocating for the province’s independence from what he describes as a “WEF-controlled” Canadian government. Rath argues that independence would allow Alberta to retain significant financial resources and control over local policies. However, critics warn that such a move could lead to economic and political fragmentation within Canada.

In federal politics, Pierre Poilievre has denied claims of planning mass deportations, instead emphasizing the enforcement of laws against temporary residents who commit crimes. This stance comes amid broader discussions on immigration and national security.

Health

Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary RFK Jr. announced a significant overhaul of the department, including a reduction of 20,000 jobs and the creation of the Administration for Healthy America (AHA). This reorganization aims to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and reportedly save taxpayers nearly $2 billion annually. Additionally, RFK Jr. revealed the establishment of a new CDC sub-agency focused on vaccine injuries, addressing concerns about vaccine-related health issues. While some praise the focus on vaccine injuries, others question the timing and motivation, suggesting it might be politically driven rather than a genuine concern for public health.

Dr. Suzanne Humphries, appearing on The Joe Rogan Experience, challenged the conventional narrative surrounding vaccines, particularly the polio vaccine. She argued that changes in diagnostic criteria and environmental factors, rather than vaccines, played a more significant role in eradicating polio. Humphries also raised concerns about vaccine safety and the potential for vaccines to cause food allergies and other health issues. Experts, however, maintain that vaccines have played a critical role in disease eradication, citing significant reductions in polio cases following vaccine introduction.

In Arkansas, ivermectin has been approved as an over-the-counter medication, with Texas potentially following suit. This decision reflects ongoing debates about the use of ivermectin in treating various health conditions, despite mixed evidence regarding its efficacy. Critics warn of potential misuse and the spread of misinformation regarding its effectiveness against viruses.

US Politics

The Trump administration’s new Golden Visa program has reportedly gained traction, replacing the EB-5 visa program. This initiative requires a $5 million investment for a fast-tracked path to U.S. citizenship, attracting over 1,000 applicants on its first day and purportedly generating $5 billion for the economy. The program, capped at 10,000 visas annually, aims to stimulate economic growth by encouraging investments in areas with low employment rates. Critics argue it favors the wealthy, while proponents suggest it has the potential to create jobs and boost the economy. Some analysts, however, caution that the program could lead to gentrification and increased property prices, potentially displacing lower-income residents.

The controversy surrounding Ilhan Omar’s family ties has resurfaced, with fact-checking sites like Snopes and Politifact facing scrutiny for their handling of the allegations. Questions about the credibility of these fact-checkers have emerged, particularly regarding their reliance on unverified sources and the potential for bias in shaping narratives. This situation highlights broader concerns about the integrity of fact-checking in political discourse. Recent reports suggest discrepancies in Omar’s father’s background, with some sources indicating a military role contrary to previous descriptions as a “teacher trainer.”

Geopolitics

Russian President Vladimir Putin has proposed a UN-led interim government for Ukraine, citing distrust in the current Ukrainian administration. This proposal comes amidst ongoing tensions and unsuccessful peace negotiations. Putin’s suggestion involves international oversight to facilitate democratic elections and establish a government capable of engaging in peace talks. Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s refusal to hold elections or step down has further complicated the situation, with European leaders continuing to support Ukraine militarily. Critics of Putin’s proposal argue it could be a strategic move to legitimize Russian influence in Ukraine under the guise of international oversight.

$5MM for an American passport is nothing more than America being sold off to the highest bidder. There’s no obligations for these people stimulate the economy, but there’s nothing stopping them from becoming new members of the rentier class.

Shahid Bolsen had a great idea that went viral online before it was taken down: instead of government profiteering from this, American citizens should demand the ability to sell their citizenship for $5MM. Especially for those who’s citizenship will never yield them anywhere close to $5MM in wealth.

At what point do we we start calling these nameless “experts” - “the opposition”?

I need to revise what I said about when ivermectin will be available in Arkansas. It will be 90 days after the legislature adjourns, which is on 5/5/2025. So we will have to wait even longer! It’s ridiculous.

It will be interesting to see what OTC ivermectin does to cancer rates. If people are popping ivermectin like claritin to treat random sniffles it might suppress some cancers.

I know it will. My sister knows two guys from high school who cured their prostate and pancreatic cancers with ivm and fenbendazole, and if you know Substack, there are numerous doctors there who write about how to use them, with stories from people who have cured themselves with them.
