Armstrong Warns of an EU Civil War, American Conservatives Fracture, and Bond Market Angst Sets In

European Politics

Martin Armstrong argued that the EU’s migration policy, which he traces to Angela Merkel’s 2015 decision on Syrian refugees, has created deep divisions among member states and raised the risk of violent civil unrest that could resemble a civil war between migrants and indigenous populations. He compared the situation to the admission of the Goths in 376 AD. Twenty-two of 27 EU members criticized Spain after the Ceuta migrant surge, Italy briefly suspended Schengen rules, and Poland, Austria, Belgium, and Sweden declined to accept any of the 30,000 asylum seekers allocated under the new pact. Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has pushed qualified-majority voting to limit national vetoes, and Armstrong predicted the EU’s dissolution by 2032.

Relatedly, British and Irish intelligence sources told The Mail on Sunday that the New IRA is preparing attacks on migrants, including 24-hour ultimatums framed in some circulating videos as part of a potential civil-war campaign. The group has been linked to incidents at a Lurgan police station and a Dunmurry car bomb. In July, law student Isobella Perrie Sullivan was charged in connection with an explosive device. A separate analysis questioned whether such coverage equates routine opposition to migration with extremism. It cited the June 2026 stabbing of Stephen Ogilvie in Belfast (allegedly by Sudanese asylum seeker Hadi Alodid), a filmed knife attack in north Belfast, the Ballymena riots, reported differences in policing, and broader warnings from Professor David Betz, Colonel Richard Kemp, and Elon Musk about potential civil conflict in Britain, alongside 2027 home-defense exercises and official stockpiling guidance.

US Politics

Tucker Carlson and allies, including Marjorie Taylor Greene, Joe Kent, and Representative Thomas Massie, have described a split on the American right over Israel policy. Carlson released a video, “It’s Time to Save America,” that received more than one million YouTube views in one day and listed ten points focused on sovereignty and criticism of U.S. support for Israel. Haaretz described the statements as antisemitic. Kent has suggested Carlson as a possible presidential candidate. Other commentators have argued that the positions risk damaging conservative unity and may reflect external influences.

Wikipedia co-founder Larry Sanger told Berliner Zeitung that the platform functions as a propaganda tool due to weak governance and a globalist, secular, and progressive consensus. He cited CIA edits first identified in 2007 by Virgil Griffith’s WikiScanner and warned that large language models now amplify the bias by treating Wikipedia as a reference. Sanger proposed reforms, including public identities for senior editors, due-process protections, article ratings, and elected policy officials.

Court records for Charlotte, North Carolina, resident Diquan Hunt document arrests beginning in 2017 for assaults on women, a conviction and sentence that was later suspended in 2019, and further assault convictions in September 2025 and again in March 2026. The repeated releases despite these prior violent offenses against women have been cited as illustrating the justice system’s failure to keep repeat offenders off the streets.

Economy

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is reportedly signaling bond-market angst as he seeks to stem the rise in long-term yields, which recently hit a 19-year high. Wall Street views his recent steps — including the first U.S. yen intervention since 1998, guidance toward a Federal Reserve repo facility, and a shift in refunding language from potential “increases” to “changes” in coupon sales — as efforts to ease pressure on the Treasury market. A BMO poll found 61 percent of clients saw the guidance change as opening the door to possible cuts in 30-year auctions, though persistent inflation and nearly $2 trillion annual deficits continue to constrain policy options.

In the student debt space, millions of Americans could soon face increased loan payments. The Saving on a Valuable Education (SAVE) plan ended on July 1, 2026, after which servicers gave borrowers 90 days to choose a new repayment plan or default to a standard plan with the highest monthly payment. In particular, borrowers over 50, including many Parent PLUS holders, face restricted access to income-driven repayment and Public Service Loan Forgiveness unless they consolidate by June 30. The Federal Reserve Bank of New York reported roughly 1 million borrower defaults in Q4 2025 and 2.6 million in Q1 2026, with average credit-score declines of 91 points. Federal collections, currently paused, can include 15 percent wage garnishment, tax-refund seizure, and offsets of up to 15 percent of Social Security benefits above a $750 floor. Advocacy groups have criticized the repayment changes as potentially harmful to 43 million borrowers.

Geopolitics

President Trump told Axios that the United States is now “low-keying” its actions toward Iran, while Tehran’s conditions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz include war reparations, release of frozen assets, removal of U.S. troops, and an end to the naval blockade. Iranian Army spokesman Amir Akraminia stated that the new Hormuz protocols are irreversible. The Wall Street Journal reported that Trump’s options have narrowed with midterm elections approaching and reduced vessel traffic through the strait.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected Trump’s 15-point Gaza peace plan during a cabinet meeting, stating that Israel would not withdraw until Hamas disarms and that no Palestinian state would be created in Gaza or the West Bank during his tenure. He said Israel would not consult Washington on its Gaza position. A senior Hamas official called on the United States to press Netanyahu to follow the plan, which is overseen by a 28-member Board of Peace that includes Tony Blair.

Energy

Houthi drones struck Saudi Aramco’s Jazan refinery on the Red Sea coast, causing a fire that was later extinguished. The facility allows Aramco to export refined products without using the Strait of Hormuz. Saudi authorities reported the fire was contained quickly with no injuries or major supply issues.

Health

A post by A Midwestern Doctor argued that the Sunshine Protection Act will harm public health by making daylight saving time permanent, resulting in dark winter mornings and circadian disruption. The United States tested and repealed a similar policy in 1974. The post noted studies linking spring clock changes to a 24 percent rise in heart attacks and a 6 percent increase in crashes, and it criticized school start times before 8:30 a.m. for affecting adolescents. The post also covered causes of and solutions for sleep deprivation, including the so-called “Ivermectin of sleep medicines,” gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB). However, the FDA has restricted GHB through Schedule I classification while only allowing a pharmaceutical version for limited uses.

Anything that will cause a disconnect between the US and Israel can only be a good thing because opposing or being critical of Israel (which there are hundreds of examples) frames you as a Jew Hater. I am tired of the labels that are thrown about as if you are watching two 6 year olds arguing on the school playground.

Tucker states these obvious goals any sane person would hope to have in a functional society and is immediately labeled an extremist. I thought his points were logical and nonpartisan. That’s the thing- he’s not pitching a right wing platform he’s pitching a moral and free society where the citizens can have life liberty and happiness.

And its “revolutionary”

Sometimes I think to myself I can’t believe we actually have to say these things out loud… common sense isn’t these days and that is the pProblem.

What a ridiculous thing to conclude. When time zone changes, yes it’s a proven fact it impacts peoples health. BUT, if it doesn’t change, then you don’t have the impact. You could make an argument that dark mornings when people are waking up might have an impact, but anybody in the north deals with that every winter anyway.

While I agree, who is doing the labeling? Me thinks it is the media. But it is rather carefully done by facilitating the claims of extremism with print/video space. That way they avoid getting splattered/blamed. So, one needs to look to the moguls of media. They have more tools and power than the President of the USA. If anyone needs to be “tarred and feathered/run out of town” it is those moguls.

While the topic by Paul Craig Roberts might seem at first blush, somewhat provocative or racist, the explanation tells otherwise.

Excerpt: The Liberals Good Intentions Brought Bad Results

Paul Craig Roberts

Liberalism has completely failed, bringing down society along with itself. The country I live in today bears no resemblance to the one I grew up in. A homogeneous population with a common set of beliefs has been turned into a tower of babel in which there are no common interests. Christianity, the basis for moral behavior, has been marginalized. Crime has exploded. Truth has been supplanted by narratives that serve special interests and the further breakup of society. Feminism has destroyed the relationship between men and women, further weakening family and society. Business serves profit at all costs. Constitutional rights are set aside for the purpose of creating race-based privileges for favored groups. The purpose of education has changed from enculturation to destruction of the belief system. Perversity has been normalized while normality is ostracized. This is the complete destruction of a civilization.

In response to the Tucker Carlson show, everybody in leadership positions faces a problem similar to that of a small army unit commander. The unit is on a dangerous intelligence gathering patrol, deep in enemy territory. The unit captures an enemy soldier who was found sleeping. Then one of the unit members kills the prisoner with a knife. As the leader, what do you do as the unit leader?

Would a European civil war destroy demand for oil and gas? Huh, funny if it did. Convenient too, for certain interests.
