What happens has been documented and commented on by the Strongtowns organization: tickets. Lots and lots of tickets and fines. Court fees. Car fees.

Oh! And tax-free zones for sales tax revenue generating corporate chains (net money losers, but the first round of infrastructure is paid for by the developer and the cash flow starts right away). That sort of thing.

You will also get annexation efforts for one town or school district to take over a neighbor. Net money loser but a one time cash flow increase.

This municipal financial instability is designed into the laws and municipal code American, Canadian, and Australian cities were developed with post-WWII.

Silver in a similar pattern. But wait!!! I looked at Kitco today (my usual silver chart went catawampus), and they said: “It’s time to take profits on gold and silver…”. Take profits on what? This 5oz button of silver that’s been sitting on my desk for years? Says: Bisbee Mining Co. It was the same size, shape and color yesterday as it is today. It might have been a bit shinier 17 yrs. ago? I doubt it will change much tomorrow, it is cold though.
