At first glance, this looks like a clever DIY idea. But then I read the instructions, which call for using maple syrup. Quite a bit of maple syrup, which sells for $10/ pint in my area. And shrimp as a (rotting) protein source. Substituting cheap corn syrup and meat scraps would make it much more economical.
