But Chris, call him privately and tell him that we are not going to have another pandemic…havent had one since invention of antibiotics, and even fauci adm8ts the 1918 flu was caused by typhus vaccine and overdosing people on asprim…youve read all the excellent scienctists like yeadon, bakdhi, et and knowledgeable people like sasha latypova…inless we allow our govt to continue todo bioweapons research…and even then I think sasha is right…they can only make poisons,…not real viruses that can replicate themselves.
. Bacteria is another story…Lyme was a bioweapon…and i think that is why our govt are putting antibiotic resistant plasma dna into everything…they know this too.
But another bacteria plague like justinian or black death…not possible UNLESS we Crspr or genetically create it…andcrelease 8t.
And we need to talk ab9ut this here…soon
Learned a lot…about the SNAP and WICS programs…please 0RAY trump is elected AND rfk jr gets appointed as attorney general.
Rfk jr NEEDS to be attny general. That is my big concern…he would have the power then to stop this DELIBERATE evil…born of corruption…and every g9vt institutiin including attny geberal 9ff8ce are all corrupt and in most cases…beyond repair.
Fully whole food plant based (i.e., vegan though I don’t like the term because of some political connotations, and there can be junk food vegans that doesn’t apply to me). I’ve been eating this way for about 8 years and thankfully my wife is 100% on board which made the transition a lot easier. We’ve discovered 100’s of wonderfully delicious recipes that really make eating a pleasure and a blessing!
Well the fitness people pull up their charts and show how the celing of VO2 max declines x% per year/decade, and sadly mine seems to be following. It’s still really good, but I may be beyond seriously competing with the best of the 20 something crowd. But I’m focusing on trying to redefine that.
FWIW, the carnivore diet you mentioned is the Standard American Diet (SAD). The SAD diet is mostly plant base with refined grains and sugar. Few of the calories come from meat. Dr Berry recently created a video describing this information.
The carnivore diet Dr Berry mentioned in this video is what a carnivore animal eats which is meat.
I’m glad the no animal product diet is working for you. A co-worker started the Dr Fehrman plant based diet after a mild heart attack and has been healthy and active since.
I’ve been on a “casual keto” diet for around 6 months now, and it works very well with my very large organic garden. Lost 25 pounds, got my thyroid dysfunction and arthritis under control, brain fog is gone, lots of energy. I find staying under 12 g of carbs per meal is just the right sweet spot (for me). All greens, zucchini and summer squash, radishes, peppers, eggplants – those you can eat a sizeable serving size fresh out of the garden with your beef-and-butter – and still not spike your blood sugar. Other vegetables, such as butternut squash or beets, is basically a “treat”. I make it for the family, have a single tablespoon serving. Most of the time I fritter at the “edge” of ketosis – just a “trace” of ketones. So long as I feel good and keep losing weight, I see no reason why not to eat watery / leafy veggies.
Interesting result and to be honest I am glad to read about your results.
I understand that you stick to plant diet.
During Dr Berry talk I noticed that during our meat diet past we came to the point that there were no animal left to kill.
Well, this can happen again and it is good to be omnivore to meet this challenge in not so distant future.
Simply there are too many of us and instead to agree on acceptable population numbers we have smart asses trying to poison us with so called “food”, vaccines and everything else.
In my opinion future is going to bring us misery either way.
I see. First thing first, indeed stop comparing yourself to the 20 something crowd. If anything, compare yourself to yourself, where you are now from where you came from and to where you might be.
By now I rejected the mainstream narrative about aging. I see too many yough people in worse conditions than myself in my fourties with a medical history and older people still living and kicking - great examples for where I aim to be when I get to similar age periods. As we age, things do change. They may indeed slow down a bit. That doesn’t necessarily mean we decline greatly. We just need to adapt what we do and how we go about it. As for VO2 max, I am inclined to say that has more to do with proper breathing and everytinng that can disrupt that (which can be so many things), rather than fitness level in itself. Fitness level is a marker for proper breathing and VO2 max instead of a good VO2 max being a marker for good fitness levels.
I am not sure how exactly VO2 max is measured and calculated. What all the factors are that they take into account. With that in mind, you might be at an optimal level for you, even with the decline you experienced. And it may be there’s a way to compensate for some of the factors that are related to the VO2 max calculation, and still get it back up to where it was. This is an area I haven’t really focused on. I do know people doing breathwork and breatherians have surprising results, contrary to the narrative and better than we are told we are supposed to be able to do. Take your time to investigate and experiment while you maintain an optimistic realistic view on what you aim for.
If you think you can’t (do something), you are right. If you think you can (do something), you are right. The first usually leads to doing nothing and indeed proving you can’t and the latter usually leads to actions which one day gets you to where you indeed can do that thing you set your mind to. Which route you choose, is up to you. My suggestion is the latter . Who knows, one day you might prove yourself right, that you indeed can get the levels of your VO2 max back up to where they used to be. Keep your chin up.
If you take a Biblical perspective, the original diet (before the flood) was vegetarian (fruits first, later vegetables and grains).
Throughout the Bible, the religious system was organized around the harvests. This goes back at least 4,000 years. Fruit and vegetable harvests were called a blessing from God. God promised to deliver the Israelites into a “land of milk and honey” (a natural form of sugar).
My hypothesis about why the keto diet is effective is because of glyphosate - which is virtually everywhere. It is in almost all grains, fruits, and vegetables (even many organic ones). It is also in meat products, but to a lesser degree since it has been processed by the animal.
I would love to see some research around that hypothesis.
Blue zone people don’t generally follow a keto diet, and yet they are the healthier and live longer than other places in the world.
If my hypothesis is true, then keto is not the ideal diet. It might just be the lesser of evils, while glyphosate is the real culprit.
Like Chris always says, I’d love to see some data on this. The data on glyphosate is already here. It is pure poison.
Great video! (I watched it all) Thanks to the Covid debacle I found the FLCCC, Chris, Dr. Berry, and a few others within a few months of each other and it HAS been life changing. February 4, 2022 I started an under 20 carbs a day Ketogenic diet that I had only planned on staying at for five weeks as a trial. Close to my trial, I joined Dr Berry’s online, behind a paywall group, now hosted on Mighty Network. I learned loads of stuff and 31 months later I am still meat heavy, low carb/high fat. Most days I still use metabolic Ketosis, and intermittent fasting, to improve my health. I lost 65+ lbs, most all of my arthritic pain, kept Graves’ disease in remission, and improved ALL my lab work, not to mention a noticeable improvement in cognitive function and energy. Yeah, and I am 62 and functioning at least as well as I ever did in my early 40’s. Every single day I see others in Dr Berry’s tribe attesting to similar or better results. It works for me and my hubs when we stick to the few basics. I rarely eat veggies now, and I supplement D3/K2, Magnesium, iodine drops, and KetoChow minerals daily. Everything Chris and Dr Berry talked about in this latest video rang true. Thanks Chris for doing this video because everything so many of us are doing here in the PP tribe is worthless if our health (physical/mental/spiritual) is in the toilet.
I met a couple at the Farmers Market and they turned me on to the “Bobby Approved” App. Use it to scan barcodes of any item in the grocery store and it instantly reports toxic ingredients…saves a lot of time reading labels.
Great guidelines on food. My own experience is tge Atkins diet was automatic. Question is what about guidance on drinks, coffe, tea, alcohol? How about spices and antioxidants? Dark chocolate, cloves, turmeric, lemon juice, ACV, ginger, cayenne pepper, black pepper etc? Honey and maple syrup? Vitamins/supplements? What prescription drugs are beneficial and necessary?
People contract cancer at all ages without a bad track record of process food intake. How does that all factor in in the priority of nutrician?
THANK YOU, Dr. Martenson, for making this conversation a part of Peak Prosperity. Much like you had opened my eyes to the insane world surrounding Covid (and beyond), Dr. Berry and Dr. Paul Saladino have also changed my life regarding my own medical condition. I was diagnosed with Crohn’s and a serious onset of crippling arthritis. I was told I would have to be on drugs for the rest of my life. After suffering a serious allergic reaction to the meds, and being unable to cope with what my life had turned into, it was not my doctor who steered me toward the path of recovery. It was my own research. I started digging into the alternative world of food. Being a chef, it wasn’t a huge leap to make. My specialty, in particular, is historical foods, and the dots started connecting for me given my love of history and research. Dr. Salisbury is an example of what doctors used to understand but has since been buried in time. In his 1888 book, he claimed hot water and meat could help cure all digestive diseases. The rule was: no vegetables, no grains, no fruit and no sugars. Aside from his experience with helping wounded soldiers recover during the civil war with this regimen, he invested into researching curative diets. It led to the “creation” of Salisbury Steak. Digging further onto YouTube itself, I came across an interview with Jordan Peterson’s daughter who ate strictly meat, and after finding Dr. Paul Saladino (and Dr. Berry and Dr. Baker), I felt like I had nothing to lose but my pain, so I started carnivore and within 5 months, ALL of my symptoms disappeared. All of them. It’s like I never had Crohn’s or arthritis AT ALL. No pain, no bleeding, no inflammation. All of it was GONE. I went from disbelief to elation and straight to…deeply rooted resentment. I felt betrayed and lied to by the medical industry. The one thing I was told to stay away from due to my disease (meat) had, in fact, been the cure. Being a chef, my entire career felt like a lie. That old quote of “Let food be thy medicine” took on a whole new twist of “Let Food be thy medicine lest medicine be thy food.” There is a reason they call it the Food AND Drug Administration. They legalize the food that then needs a drug. That revolving door crushes any hand that tries to wedge a hand in and we all know this but it isn’t until it affects you personally that you take it personally. As always, thank you, Dr. Martenson, for using your incredible platform to shine light into the darkest corners.
