Great quote! That quote would lead me to focusing on who are “the forces” behind the assassination, not so much the details of the actual shooting, cause of death and autopsy, etc. OTOH we might need the investigation into the details of the shooting to discover who “the forces” are behind it.
But it is essential that we progress to the next reasonable step in the process. What do we do if we can’t definitively prove who “the forces” are behind the assassination? Nothing? Dig and wait for more evidence before we act? After all, we haven’t PROVEN who “the forces” were behind either of the attempts on Trump’s life, the Las Vegas mass shooting, or the RFK, MLK or JFK assassinations, just to name a few possible candidates for discovery. And I seriously doubt this people’s investigation, or that of the government, will identify “the forces” either.
Here’s the problem embedded in that quote by Salandria: the assassinations were a clear message from “the forces” that our own government is powerless before “them.” Is there anything we can do about THAT FACT that doesn’t have to wait until we can definitively unmask “the forces” in court and secure convictions? We all know beyond a reasonable doubt or can vaguely sense that this is true, that our government is secretly ruled over by invisible “forces” that disregard the will and welfare of “the people.” Is there anything we can and should do about that NOW in the absence of definitive proof regarding the identities of the individuals who comprise “the forces?”
I say there is something the people caught in that vice can and should do INSTEAD of waiting? I think there is and Thomas Jefferson said it best of all:
“ We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. We need a do-over. Clear the game board and start over.
