Harris Proposes Price Controls; FBI Burns the Evidence

Vice President Kamala Harris’s proposal to ban price-gouging has raised concerns about potential economic repercussions. Critics argue that the lack of clear definitions for “excessive prices” and “excessive corporate profits” could lead to government-enforced price controls. The Federal Trade Commission would be tasked with determining these thresholds, which some fear could disrupt market dynamics and facilitate price collusion. The proposal has sparked a broader discussion about the role of government in regulating prices and its impact on the economy.

In other political news, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has come under scrutiny for his comments regarding presidential immunity. Critics argue that Schumer’s stance distorts legal precedents, such as the Supreme Court’s decision in Van de Kamp v. Goldstein, which grants prosecutors absolute immunity for actions closely related to the trial process. Schumer’s assertion that no one, including former President Trump, should be above the law has sparked debate about the consistency of legal protections for different branches of government. This controversy adds to the ongoing discussion surrounding the interpretation and application of legal immunity in the United States.

In a related development, photo evidence has emerged showing an individual resembling the Trump shooter openly carrying what appears to be a long gun at the rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. The photo, shared by Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, raises questions about security protocols at the event. Commentators have expressed disbelief that the individual was able to move freely with a rifle, suggesting lapses in security measures. The incident has prompted further scrutiny of the Secret Service’s actions and the overall security arrangements at the rally.

Adding to the complexity of the Butler rally incident, Louisiana Rep. Clay Higgins has criticized the FBI for releasing the body of Thomas Matthew Crooks, the attempted assassin, to his family for cremation shortly after the event. Higgins, who sought to examine the body as part of his investigation, argued that the FBI’s actions hindered further investigative efforts. He noted that the body was released without the knowledge of local authorities and the county coroner. The shooting resulted in the death of Firefighter Corey Comperatore and severe injuries to two others, including a minor injury to former President Trump. Higgins emphasized the importance of examining Crooks’ body to verify the accuracy of the coroner’s report and autopsy.

Bayer AG experienced a significant boost in its stock value following a legal victory in Philadelphia. The 3rd US Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in favor of Bayer’s Monsanto, shielding the company from a lawsuit related to its Roundup weedkiller. This decision could pave the way for a crucial review by the US Supreme Court, potentially resolving ongoing litigation. The ruling, which mandates nationwide uniformity in pesticide warning labels, conflicts with decisions from federal appeals courts in Atlanta and San Francisco. Bayer’s shares, which have been under pressure due to years of litigation, saw a 10% increase following the ruling. The company has settled most of the Roundup litigation for $10.9 billion but still faces nearly 58,000 claims. Analysts suggest that a comprehensive review by the Philadelphia appeals court could reduce Bayer’s ultimate exposure, potentially keeping settlement costs within the company’s $16 billion outlay.

The Supreme Court has so much cow muck on its boots. It OK’d the FISA Court and refused to hold the FBI accountable for illegal breaches of FISA rules. The Chief Justice, Warren, investigated the Kennedy assassination and apparently found nothing wrong. They created the concept of Stare Decisis, akin to omnipotence that the Catholic Pope claims. They have lost control over the Judicial Branch of government by total failure to repremand judges for unjust decisions that were politically motivated. Then there was the claim that the courts are not political only to be followed by the actions taken by the courts with regard to J6th and Trump. I watched Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer act like a puppy when praised by Obama. These people may be capable of emense factual storage, but they are very, very flawed in other inportant mental aspects.
