Iran, NYC, and the Descent into Chaos

Eh, that sounds like plant Carney style… straight from nowhere, no vote, nothing.

That 12 minute Larry Johnson-Scott Horton clip underscores Putin’s dictum that there’s no one in the West who is “agreement capable”. Great recap of the state of affairs. Sadly, the world is learning the US in particular cannot be trusted. It’ll push more countries toward BRICS.

I know. I can’t blame them. Do you think if they can get their currency differences and payment systems figured out, our currency hegemony disappears like a third world nation?

Liberal logic: “If some diversity is good, then more is better.”

Just kidding. Their logic is actually “Chaotic, ruined societies allow our power to grow more easily.”

I’m guessing Military Summary gave Blackrock the sads this morning. Russia just took the largest Lithium deposit in the world yesterday.

Also, questioning the battle damage assessment of the B2 bombing at Nordow gives the pilots the sads which is why no one should question it damn it. (Janet).

“Trust us, Bro!”

I have to ask, was it Curveball himself?

Or was it some other super-duper credible, reliable source?

I’m sure that over the next several weeks there will be a dozen or more reports from different US government agencies regarding the success of the Fordow bombing.

I think we can confidently say that there was severe damage to the plant. If not complete destruction the shock from the impacts would have damaged much of the very sensitive equipment, even if it was not operating at that particular moment. I personally cannot imagine that the plant survived the bombing, but perhaps it has. I hope it has been damaged completely.

There will be more assessments over these days, nothing to get excited about. I’m sure satellites will monitor this entrances to the plant 24 hours a day to see who or what tries to enter this place. The Iranians will dig out the entrances and have a look around. I suspect there is nothing for them to return to.

The world is a better and safer place without the Iranians having a military nuclear program and building a nuclear bomb. They are far less rational and predictable than even the North Koreans.

I intend to go over your video, at least the first portion regarding Iran of it again and reply point by point with my opinion. There is more in that video that I disagree with than that I agree with.

Gotta love Matt Taibi on Mamdani:

" New York City’s mayoral race has been won by Zohran Mamdani, no Bernie Sanders-style imitator but the real thing — son of a famed socialist scholar and Marvel superhero to every Jacobin-reading, keffiyeh-wearing student activist huddled in Judean People’s Front-type confabs, between bell hooks readings and visits to Mom and Dad on the Upper West Side. In this country, it’s the most significant movement victory in a century, almost certainly presaging in the near future an epic clash at the summit of American politics between socialism and, well, anything else. As Michael Buffer would say, “Let’s get ready to rum-m-m-ble."

As for his policies…

It’s a yummy pu-pu platter of rent freezes, free bus rides, free child care, and subsidized city-owned grocery stores that will “buy and sell at wholesale prices” and “centralize warehousing and distribution,” clamping down on those evil bodega owners and private supermarkets that force overpriced Fritos and soda on the poor. This will be the AOC theory of inflation caused by “price gouging” deployed in life, via a program to reverse ongoing harms of colonialism by liberating humans and non-human food animals from industry-driven food myths that compel us to harm our bodies, and — have you stabbed yourself in the face yet? ¡Viva la revolución!"*

Correction, the largest lithium deposit in Europe. The largest lithium deposit is in California, maybe 40 times larger than Ukraine’s lithium deposits. The largest used to be In Bolivia and Chile, which is at least 20 times larger than this one in Ukraine…

Well, you have to keep in mind, the US government, especially the CIA would never do the same thing twice. They’re way too creative especially after they’re proven to be liars.

There is an axiom in the west that capitalism always was and always will be the best economic system ever devised. Yes it has some minor warts but just needs some fine tuning around the edges.
May I suggest a listen to either Richard Wolff or Michael Hudson two Marxists economists.
Both will admit capitalism has its strengths however they offer a vision of a much better world where multi billionaire oligarchs do not run the show.

Didn’t know that. Took MS’ lithium size without checking this am. Thanks.

You think restaurant owner type wealth is who he’s talking about when raising taxes on the rich?

The point of my original comment was it’s the uber rich making boatloads of unearned income that need to be taxed more, not those who actually earn their money (such as restaurant owners).

I’m not interested in your opinions. They have proven colored by powerful systems of beliefs.

Instead let’s do this with facts and data?

Maybe you could start with this:

The problem is our system already actually taxes earned income at vastly higher rates than investment (or unearned) income.

But the tax system being proposed is on “income” so it will fall on both earned and unearned income, the former of which is already taxed near to death.
