Iran, NYC, and the Descent into Chaos

So like Shria law in Dearborn, MI public schools, that would be perceived as being best for the majority.

What are property crimes?

Does your state has house selling tax (dont know english translation)?

Basicly it is similar transaction tax. If I were to buy house, I have to pay 3% of house price as tax to state. Previously it was 4%, new government just lowered it. For apartments it is 1.5%. Thus moving to new city and say cheapo 100k apartment and thats 1500euros extra pay for that new opportunity. Yet stock trading has lower fees… to the point the more to trade, the more bulk enjoys lower fees. Of intricate fees and taxing in those financial markets Im not sure, as I dont actively do that. I know it is cheaper the more and bigger entity you are. Same with electric tax. Some 1/20 tax for company vs for me as residential per kwh.

I know comparing private life consumption and B2B transactions is sort of apples and oranges. But it gives some picture as small business are closer to private person than company, let alone big corporation.

What I’ve read already around 2013 how absurd HFT has gone, I could think some people and companies in that sphere would welcome that tax as now it is nanosecond or lower “game”. That is similar as real estate, only so many spots in datacenter closest to that main exchange computer. With tech progressing, it gets more absurd.

I really like Jeff Childers approach, it’s cautiously optimistic and he knows he doesn’t know anything. It’s called the “Fog of War” for a reason, you really can’t see what’s really going on. Childers found the 24 hour notice to Iran before the US bombing and he also reported the US had a 24 hour warning before the US base in Quatar was bombed.

This is not the first time I’ve heard notice is given before bombs drop. I can’t speak for Israel, but it’s a practice the US has engaged in before. Personally, I felt safer knowing grandstanding was going on rather than a real aggression.

Can you believe Cuomo lost to a socialist? I can’t understand why Cuomo’s not sitting in a prison somewhere. And he won a fucking emmy award for public announcements during Covid. WTF? Why are these assholes always rewarded and never, ever, ever held accountable?

OMG, Trump is the devil, again. Oh, maybe Zohran’s not a socialist, sounds like he’s a communist. He’s calling mom’s who raise their own children unpaid childcare workers? That’s a new one.

Oh wow, that mugging reminded me of what the European Jews went through. They were fair game, they lost all of their civil rights, anyone could do just about anything to them with no consequences.

London is so fucked up. Aquarium Men, hahahaha. Love your sense of humor, Chris. 22 Standard deviation death rates is man made. England killed those old people in order to pay for the immigrants. Don’t aske me why, but I get the feeling the whole care home death debacle was just an accounting entry.

The USSR was a pretty hellish place to live in from its beginning to its end. The State owned everything. The State lied all the time. The State was very punitive. The State bred cronyism. The State did a very poor job running society.

Jacinda is headed for a cockroach body in her next life, but while she’s here, she’s a menace to human society. I really can’t stand that woman. It’s like she has arrogance instead of blood running through her veins. Maybe she won a secret award from the WEFers for being the most repressive and oppressive bitch on the world stage; she was definitely top tier, up there with the Cuomos of the covid debacle.

I have to disagree with Chris to an extent about the “proper” use of windpower and solar power; they can work for small non industrial businesses and residential buildings IF the buildings are built in a passive solar design and if you give up major energy suckers like dish washers, electric dryers, electric stoves, etc… Agreed it won’t run industry, but if all the residences were built passive solar, there would be no need for AC/Heat for the building because it would stay the same temperature year round no matter where you live. Earth is the best insulator for both warmth and coolness. Underground you’re also a little safer from damaging winds and tornados.

The first research paper I wrote in college was on energy efficient housing. What I learned is that everyone knew - for a long time, 100+ years - that the most energy efficient housing is underground. The Garbage Warrior proved you could make inviting living space in a partially underground structure: The Earth Ship.

I still envision a war like effort to revamp our residential/housing situation in the US by tearing down, salvaging, renovating, and rebuilding our living spaces into Earthships. Imagine how much money would be freed up if we didn’t have electric bills?

To my fellow tribe members, if you have not watched “The Garbage Warrior” I highly recommend the film. It’s a true story about a renegade mad-man, genius type who has made a real impact and had to “come back” after being stripped of his profession. It’s a great story about the human condition and how to persevere in the face of adversity, how to give in charity after you lost everything important to you, and how to effectuate real change. I must have watched this film a half dozen times or more.

Last I checked it’s free on youtube. Can’t wait to read the comments.

My issue is with more taxes on anyone. At least at the income level. I dont see how higher taxes ever increase the standard of living for anyone. More taxes more government bloat while still not paying down the deficit. Or at least get to something resembling a balanced budget. I just dont see where taxes have helped whether being higher or lower.

I admit i am nowhere in the realm of an economist. And in my naivety i feel get rid of income tax. Id like to see property tax go too, but if it has to be, you should only be taxed at your purchase price. Not as assesed. Thats an unrealized gain tax and puts elderly on fixed incomes out of their homes. To offset that drastically increase sales tax. 50% sales tax may be on the table, or higher. No tax loopholes for ultra rich. People with more spend more. People with less spend less. It would to some extent level the tax fairness. You can afford a 100 million yatch, well its 150 million. You make 50k you keep 50k and budget accordingly. You budget properly buy an affordable house you can plan and budget for your lifetime.

They have used the same scare tactic here.

Yes! And at the risk of sounding simplistic, this is a government that allows its police to beat women to death who do not wear the proper head scarfs (!) and has a zero tolerance for other religions.

But aside from that, we’re not talking about Finland! Iran has been funding terrorism since 1979. They took our embassy and all of it residents as hostages and paraded them for news cameras day after day. They regularly chant “Death to Israel!” and “Death to America!” And how can we forget October 7th which Iran funded and carried out by their proxies, Hamas!? And shortly after that, Hezbollah (also funded by Iran) attacked Israel in the north?

Any economic system that allows a .001% of the population to own so much wealth and thus influence, is corrupt (Bill Gates et el). This kind of wealth should never be allowed to happen. It’s too dangerous to society.

The majority of what exactly? Divisions of people can be drawn across many dimensions and interests.

When it comes to governance, I see the best for most people is getting out of their way.

From Vigilant Fox

Ron DeSantis says NYC just handed Florida a gift—and his name is Zohran Mamdani.

“I guarantee you it will be DISASTROUS.”

“I saw firsthand the amount of wealth that moved into Florida and the businesses… he will be worse than [Bill] de Blasio.”

“He wants to eliminate the NYPD. I’ll tell you what, when NYPD officers move to Florida and they work for our law enforcement, we give them a $5,000 signing bonus. We believe in law enforcement in Florida.”

“He wants to eliminate cash bail. So his ideas… have been tried in places like San Francisco, and they have failed miserably… I guarantee you it will be disastrous.”

At this point, DeSantis doesn’t even have to lift a finger to build Florida’s economy because it’s being mailed to him from Manhattan.

Pretty sure it’s called racist. Or sexist. Or white supremacist. Probably all three to be honest.

Yes everything about Trump and Hegseth is a big turnoff for me.

Anything that does not will its continued existence will be eliminated. It can happen slowly, due to entropy, faster, due to weeds and parasites, or rapidly due to direct conflict with a peer/superior of stronger will.

This applies to religion, ethnicity, culture (the 3 characteristics of Lindsay’s “woke right”) or any other complex structure from a company to a government department.

The mistake that has proliferated in our larger environment is inclusion of those who wish to degrade the will of the group. The great Anglican bishop Desmond Tutu (who happens to be black) attacked apartheid, and afterwards some people (coincidentally especially whites) could not survive in the ruined country. The other groups do much better. Islam and the correlated cultures and ethnicities are rolling over The West with great intention, and so much as noticing this is a racist conspiracy theory.

Yet sadly, a decay into socialism is an efficient genetic strategy in a feminine political environment.

NYC has an ethnic problem. Rather than pushing its population outwards, it’s filling up with those from elsewhere. This is no good. They faster they can detonate their economy the better they spread their seeds. These seeds will take root in Miami, and then ideally Miami can detonate after a couple of generations of accepting New York socialism.

The only thing that stops the overrun of socialism is exclusive borders such that you cross them, and they don’t. If people fleeing socialism got shot instead of welcomed, then it would end quite quickly. I’m sure there’s a threshold - the first 5% saw it coming and are OK, the remaining 95% can suck it up.

John Doyle calls it Theater Kid Occupied Government.

The Jacinda segment was the hardest on me today. That’s after today’s PBS Newshour biased coverage of the ACIP meeting and yestersay’s NPR coverage of the same. Defund both. And something nasty should happen to Jacinda, God willing.

Will these be NYC liberals moving to Florida and bringing their liberal politics?

Looking Texas, it is funny to look map, Austin is blue city, otherwise easily red state. That is to be expected. Liberalism cannot survive out in wild(seems “democracy” is nowadays synonym with liberal, despite I think many supporters are fooled that they actually want worker rights and human decency, that can be conservative, but not liberal). Lot of blue collar people, many of them live outside of big cities or far from downtown in suburb, are not liberal, as that needs certain level of income/privilege. This was key for Trump, he manages or bothers to talk to these people. Liberals dont.

That’s funny I had the exact same thought
