That is so heart breaking and infuriating. This has to be stopped and the inexcusable severely punished. I’m so sorry that happened.
Unfortunately this is called Health Care and all happened under what was considered the protocols at that time. The part where he lived anyway is what went “wrong”.
Internet friend lost her husband. His O2 was high, both she and he denied Vent. Hospital did it anyway, then without exaggeration, murdered him with OD of Fentanyl. Incredibly sad story, but all one has to do, is follow the money.
This didn’t age well, LOL. How much was sold in what time period to cause the drop at the close today?
We haven’t conversed before but nowadays seeing that someone who hasn’t been around somewhere in a while and is still alive is a huge relief:)
EU tried to ban Glyphosate but didn’t. They have approved it’s use for 10 years.
Instead they banned it’s use for desiccation of crops but it can still be used pre-harvest to kill weeds. So in reality as long as you say I only used it before harvest to kill the weeds not to desiccate the crop you can use it.
All these countries have an opt-out system for organ donation.
Spain, Austria, Uruguay, Chile, UK, Iceland and Ireland.
These countries are considering transitioning to an opt-out system for organ donation.
Switzerland, Austrialia, Germany and USA.
In other words if you do not opt-out you automatically consent to organ donation.
Californian here. Just checked my license and there is a tiny pink circle on the bottom that states Donor. I don’t recall agreeing to this.
If Bugs and Tippy get on the internet at night and order themselves treats from Chewy, said treat order may be deleted and replaced with a recipe for braised hare. And maybe your roomba will try to bumper car them. Sorry!
Snort! Love how they call it opt-out system when in reality you are automatically opted in.
Same ol same ol
Based on the evidence, why would we assume they would respect our wishes if we lobbied for, and got, a “non organ doner” license? They would let the transplant team in to berate us and our families right up until the end.
And then they still would probably do what they want.
Small business idea:
Anti-organ-donation Cyanide pills: “When you know the end is nigh, poison your organs!”
Funny, I have had similar thoughts when I see the notices also.
After thinking about it for a bit, agreed that criticism of the current administration is separable from the prior.
The temptation to ask if it was the better of the possible outcomes is going to be strong, considering I think many of us in this forum only thinly believe that the government will ever resemble functional. At best, I think we might trade off which parts are the most vs least functional based on the traits of those currently in charge.
From my admittedly weak understanding of President Trump and his peculiarities, it seems unlikely that he is outright robbing the country in the sense many of us think about. I suspect that if he creates economic systems that increase the divide, it will look like favorable legislation for tax breaks for corporate investments, not unlike the first year write down options for capital expenses (not a tax guy).
If I had two requests, it would be that at least some examples of serious consequences fall on high profile individuals and the government cut enough spending that it isn’t just a rounding error.
Considering the disappointment ratio of past administrations, I would be ecstatic to see just one.
I don’t want to seem ungrateful for the border effort, I certainly am, but at the same time, I think it was getting to the point where if it continued much longer, the country would have been lost completely. Immigration without integration is not a reliable recipe.
Additions to the “To Do List” for the week:
Revoke organ donor status on DL. ![]()
Convert more digital to paper (equities to $) ![]()
Some of the $ to additional tangible, necessary, things we need. We’re not totally out of the rigged casino game but faster and more than ever. At or near ATH’s is not a bad spot to lock several in. More dry powder than usual. 3/4 ![]()
Thanks Chris, Evie, et al.
Silver outperformed gold today. Look at SLV vs GLD.
That’s unusual. When metals prices drop, usually silver gets pounded harder.
Of course if that pattern changes back to normal, I’ll point that out too.
In China, silver does seem to be selling off harder this evening.
I’ll have to wait for the OI to update at CME to know if there was any change in shorting patterns.
Thanks for the heads up on the meteor shower! We will enjoy that.
This would depend on who the chef is and what outcome they desire.
Formerly brain dead here. Following a car vs bicyclist accident I was in a coma for six months, largely without brain activity the whole time. Kinda happy my parents fought (fisticuffs) for me to keep my bits and pieces.
The guy spraying the local pond gave me a flashback of seeing images of people spraying pesticides in the pools during the polio era. What could go wrong?
Re: organ donors, when my husband and I created our will after the birth of our firstborn, we opted to donate our organs to the state college’s science program. Then my father-in-law looked into what the science program did with those donations; I don’t recall the particulars anymore, just that we changed that designation on our will afterwards.
The Uvalde school shooting, what a mess. The problem with the cops standing around outside not doing anything is that they are not required to help a victim of crime during the crime. A lot of victims have filed law suits against law enforcement for failing to protect them during the commission of a crime, and guess what? The victims have lost! The USSC says law enforcement is not required to help a victim during the commission of a crime. Since LEO’s have not duty to protect during the commission of a crime, I would argue that Law Enforcement cannot (legally) stop a parent from rushing into a school in an attempt to save their child from a shooter.
How are they going to manage AI development without the necessary power plants? TPTB can’t strip Americans of their electrical needs. I think that would be paramount to stripping Americans of their food. We all know what follows prolonged food shortages, right? Civil unrest and possibly revolution.
All I can think of when I’m looking at the graph comparing China’s electrical production to the US’ electrical production is what goes up, must come down!
