This picture shows that the banner is wrinkled in the corner, exactly where the shot to the hydraulic piston would have had to penetrate.

We should try to answer such questions with the help of social media.
There are some on Twitter who are still dealing with the attempted assassination:

Crooks member card number was 1133 and he shot the first shot at 18:11:33
By the way,
Ken Silva: " As Scott said on Tucker’s show, I am writing a book for The Libertarian Institute on the Trump assassination attempts!
The working title is “The Trump Assassination Attempts: What the Investigations Missed, and Why it Matters”."
The first simulation results are in:
At first glance, it looks pretty consistent with the real photo. However, we’ll need to draw another bullet line (coming from the tents) to make a proper comparison.
I can show you how I created this simulation so we can analyze it together.
Could Zaliponi even hit the buffer tube of Crooks’ AR-15-style rifle from his position if Thomas Crooks was still lying on the floor of the roof?
If you give me the positoin of Zaliponi, I could verify that in my CAD.
Gregory M. Nicol (Beaver), and Kevin M. Mikulan (Butler) are shown as a firearms instructors:

„I 100% hit the target. The way he stomped over staggered, he was dazed and confused. That’s how he went down.“

John Cullen
Zaliponi also testified that the gunman was “at his 11 o’clock”…
Can you see Fox Nation’s blue spot for the shooter’s roof location?
Hi, sorry for the delay. Found time this afternoon to reply to your post. The guy on the AGR rooftop, having a pee watering down the evidence. It has been photoshopped in 2 places. Whoever did it, has done a rubbish job of it. Also a sniper hiding in the trees as cover? You will be surprised how many guys in uniform were in that woodland.
It looks like a fairly straightforward shot.
The time between shot 3 and shot 9 is 4.341 seconds, which gives us an additional 130 frames to analyze whether anything can be seen. However, as shown in the red rectangle, the view is obstructed by the post.
I would give him the benefit of the doubt unless we find evidence that clearly disproves his claims.

Have you both watched this video because of the banner?
It looks like a fairly straightforward shot.
I thought that from Zaliponi, the buffer tube of Crooks’ AR-15 might not have been visible while Crooks was on the floor of the roof because of the roof ridge.
John Cullen also points out that the rifle was hit on the right as seen from Crooks, while Zaliponi was too far to the east. So Crooks must have turned slightly.
Ken Silva on Zaliponi’s hit: 7:25
„And we think the bullet probably went right between the cheek and might have hit the buttstock of his gun.“
In this way, the buttstock could have been hit from the left rather than the right as seen from Crooks.
Video from the top row. Maybe there are a few good frames among them.
Someone posted it on Twitter after I asked about it.
The FBI has released two photos of Crook’s rifle.
https://www.fbi.gov/news/press-releases/butler-investigation-photos
The first photo is supposed to show the rifle as it was found on site.
“Thomas Crooks’ rifle as recovered at shooting site.”
From Crooks’ point of view, the rifle could also have been hit from the left.
And here is the second photo:
Here the damage looks as if the hit could only have come from the right from Crooks’ point of view.
That must have caused some confusion.
I wonder what and why the FBI altered the rifle. Oh well, they just pushed it together. That’s probably not immediately noticeable.
By the way, it is folded. Which part was upper and lower in extended position?
Nice find! What video is that from? I can see the box in that still, not the line itself though. Someone seems to have thought a dark spot on the underside of the box might have been a bullet hole, but I think that’s just a shadow. The two other arrows are interesting - I’d like to see if those can be looked at in higher resolution.
Maybe this annotated picture will help:
IF one were to assume the shot that hit the telehandler came from “Crooks” location or along a close line, it would have passed through where the lady in the red hat next to David Dutch is in this photo (she would have ducked by then). This was taken Mr. Comperatore.
The problem is that the bullet hole in the line is not consistent with a shot from the north. It’s consistent with a shot from the north east.
