Those two guys definitely came out of the building looking different, like with more gear than they went in with, but I thought it was that they came out wearing vests or something, not that they changed shirts. Bearded guy also covered his face on the way out.

I must agree. A priority for sure. Much more important than say officer johndoe who was a mile away. I’ve always believed the clothing is part of the answer. It’s too much coincidence to have 2 guys dressed the same close to the same retaining wall on the day of a presidential assassination attempt. And then other guys as well? That close by and nothing? Then all friendly and helpful?
By the way… we all assume Learning was autocorrect adjustinf for Lurking. What if it wasn’t? so we assume all other of Nicol’s words are correct but that one was wrong. I don’t use auto correct, do you guys? Is it feasible? E and U are not close to each other… Would autocorrect change lurking to learning?

It does seem strange. If it was an autocorrect system, it seems like a really bad one, because it just replaced a less common word with a more common one based on how they sound. There definitely are systems for hashing words to how they sound (the most famous one is soundex), but I don’t think that should be used for autocorrection.
But when I was going back and looking at the doc we’ve all looked at a hundred times, I started to wonder, does it even make sense for GN to ask somebody to tell the USSS counter-snipers to “watch out” for someone?
I mean, imagine a young guy is at an event in a public place and acting slightly weird for whatever reason. Would somebody snap his picture and try to tell some snipers that they haven’t met that they should watch out because they might have to shoot him?

If they didn’t want to use their guns, they could have trown a branch from the tree at least. And why nobody came up with the idea to just stand on that retaining wall for a second to get a better view?

I do wonder where all these new kit items they are wearing have come from. Is it safe to assume their kit comes from inside this building?
One take on it is “learning” was intended, and means he was trying to learn the layout. It was stated that Crooks was looking up and down at the two-story building, thus learning, gaining situational awareness.

maybe they’re going to pick up their equipment (in their car?). But on the other hand: why should they pimp up after things seem under control? Just to step out door 9 half an hour later and show off?

Learning, leaning, lurking, whatever the actual intended wording may have been I think the intention still rings true of trying to “spread the word” of a mysterious, potentially dangerous actor. Wording is strange again with ‘AGR I think it is’, he doesn’t even know what building this kid is located by when he took the photo? He doesn’t know where he is?
Ya know, it’s ‘game time’, snipers look out, also random bike and backpack for added distraction. Classic.

Yeah, it seems absurd. I think it was OK that they went in like Miami Vice, but it should have been clear to them everything was over within ten minutes.

Camo shorts went hunting for Greg as soon as they got to the corner of Building 6 @ 18:13-14. & waved him over (cruiser cam)
All 3 had a important pow-wow with Greg distancing & remaining 10ft away.
Greg then rushed back to be first inside.
