Image what Life will be like when the AI’s with IQ of 1000 are imbued in physical robots that can Plan stuff and manipulate their physical environment.
The Chinese system will aggressively adopt the Technology, but probably heavily imbue it with Societal conformity, but also Confucian Benevolence.
The American AI’s and Social Media seem to be feeding the Irrationality and the Narcissism? They’re literally burning Tesla cars now. The AI’s seem to be feeding sharp societal division?

The woman at the 27 minute mark is unbelievable. She is more likely going to be consumed by her starving felines between the time of her death and when her neighbors call the police to complain about the awful smell than her finding a male companion that tolerates her insanity.

Here in New England we live under the delusion that we live life in the only way that it can be lived…everybody on their own little plot of land well separated from each other so that walking anywhere, or being conveniently located to shopping or your local school, is not practical. Wheels are required.
Going to places with planned communities, or Europe, where everything is conveniently located for the resident humans is too weird. We become uncomfortable and leave as soon as possible.

I have a non-zero probability assigned to the prospect that we live in an information universe where the veil between the domains simply needs a conduit for the information (consciousness, intelligence - pick your least objectionable or most favored word) to pass from one domain to the other.
Humans are a conduit, but so are octopi, ravens, elephants, dolphins and whales, etc, and so forth.
Nature has ‘solved’ for consciousness across highly diverse genetic approaches over and over again. So it’s ‘a thing.’
What if ‘consciousness emerging’ is simply one of those underlying forces of the universe? What if all it needs to emerge is the right sort of combination of durable structures and feedbacks to spark through?
Who’s to say that our chemical wet wiring and sparking is the only way for that to happen?
If so, then it’s entirely possible we’re playing with something here we sincerely don’t understand, like cavemen moving two subcritical plutonium bricks nearer to each other.
At Navy, if the forecast was rain, the brigade was given the command to “carry raingear” to class. No raingear in hand meant demerits. If it started to rain, “wear raingear” was the command throughout the yard. There was NEVER a time when every midshipman carried, wore, or didn’t have raingear at one time on any given rainy day. Some carried, some wore, and it was the one command that never quite got obeyed correctly, ever.
Just after the universe was created, during expansion, how in the world did every particle, without exception carry raingear? I think about that Leonard Susskind video of the cosmological constant and holographic universe from time to time. Quantum physics, a ridiculous science that can be experimentally demonstrated as true. And then there’s the protons that seem to know each other in spite of their locations. Makes me go, hmmm.

Yes, absolutely! Trump wasn’t President and it was the prior administration that started the brew-haha between Ukraine and Russia. It was Austin, Blinken, Sullivan who caused this war to grow in size and fester. Unless Trump was directly involved in the war when it started, which I doubt, just stop the bloodshed. You can’t bring the dead back but you can put a stop to future battlefield deaths.
It is tempting to desire an “amicable divorce” where the sides withdraw to their respective corners and begin building rewarding lives. But, a pragmatic worldview teaches that persecution exhibited by the left never dies; it redirects its ire to the next target. No line of demarcation will ever be free of incursion. Resiliency is the only true form of resistance. Thoughtful spending, self-reliance, intra-dependency (tribal alliance), contentment and a “no quit attitude” are the best tools we have. Please continue to run the good race.
