The W.H.O. (Finally!) Declares Coronavirus A "Pandemic"

Since according to the data, i should be non-infective now (more then 14 days since the first symptom), i’m trying to get tested again. At the very least i want a CT scan because i’m sure i’ve taken damage… my chest does not feel as well as it did before the whole ordeal. But i doubt the test, if ever, will come in time. You have no idea how unwieldy Dutch bureaucracy is.
Since i was already stuck at home with no help (because i tried and i got threatened with the police) i had to work with whatever i had, as i’m sure many of the people here on this site will be faced with eventually. Which includes no extra oxygen. So just to summarize my treatment and what i did to stay alive:
-Everything got worse when i did nothing. Smoking did not change the frequency or severity of the symptoms, at least for me. I did cut down on smoking to half measures, but only because my body said “enough” after half a joint. If you’re on nicotine, i’d say keep smoking just enough to not go into withdrawal. Withdrawal would be worse then smoking at a minimum pace because your body can’t handle multiple black swans at the same time.
-After i progressed into severe and had real difficulty breathing, i started taking 2 ibuprofen when waking up, then 1 every 8 hours to keep a high dose. This 100% made me feel better, though it alone wasn’t enough. I also took 2-4 paracetamol a day against the headaches and muscle pains as well as 1 multivitamin and a bunch of vitamin C a day. I know the Ibuprofen is effective. The rest is more or less guesswork that couldn’t hurt.
-Most of the stuff i did was symptom treatment. With chills i put on a robe, with a fever i took off a sweater. Listening to your body works best here.
But the most important thing i did was keep my heart going. If you start to feel tingling in your fingers, and that tingling is moving down your fingertips into your palms and you start to reeallly have difficulty breathing, it’s not your lungs, it’s your heart. This only counts for cases which go Severe, so for 80% of you, this’ll never happen. I had a pulse ox meter on my finger when it happened, and while it could baaaarely detect a pulse in my right hand and no strong enough pulse to measure in my left, it said my blood ox was just fine at 99% on my right.
It’s not your lungs, it’s your heart’s inability to transport oxygen to places where you need it, your extremities, so your body thinks you’re running low on air, but you’re not. That’s why the extra oxygen isn’t stopping anybody from progressing into critical. Sure some will need it because their lung damage is extensive; i’m not saying don’t hook em up to oxygen. I’m saying the oxygen alone isn’t doing anything special other then what oxygen normally does.
What kept me alive is moving. Instead of lying down and taking it easy, i ran to get a pulse ox meter to record the effects (because i’ma sue the hell out of some people over this, i knew they wouldn’t believe me) and when it got too bad and i called 911, i ignored their incessant demanding that i’d calm down and i just got angrier.
Remember how in movies when somebody goes into cardiac arrest, they can’t bring him back immediately and then they just stab the patient with Adrenaline? You make that stuff yourself too! Whenever i let out a burst of anger, the symptoms went away for a little while or the worst of it got reset allowing me to move again.
Ever since the first attack, whenever i felt the tingling in my fingertips start to move down my fingers, i immediately went to youtube, put on a 1 hour dance mix (russian hardbass in my case, has about the right BPM with heavy bass. It needs to be pretty fast, but not too fast) and started bouncing up and down in my chair and moving my arms. So Dancing. Really give the old chest/back/shoulder/arm muscles a workout. Legs are optional cause Dizzyness/confusion might be a problem at the same time; you start jumping you will hurt yourself. So stay seated and stay active.
Within 5 minutes of doing so the tingling would recede back into just my fingers, the bounce between fingers and palms. I also noticed if i had shortness of breath at the same time, after dancing a while, breathing became easier. Not harder or faster as you might expect, but it cleared up. If at any point i stopped dancing to analyze what would happen if i stopped dancing (AKA am i just imagining this like everybody says or is there something wrong?) the tingling immediately resumed it’s course up my hands/arms again and breathing got more difficult, with it only going away again with more severe dancing (extra exertion).
All of it might sound silly now, but pretty soon there’s going to be people who literally cannot get care because the system is overwhelmed, and at that point, i’ll bet one of em is crazy enough to try seated dancing as a treatment. For that time i want this info out there.
Below i’ll post 2 things i’ve posted before. Now that some time is past and even tom hanks reports intermittent symptoms with light fevers, maybe it’ll get a few more people believing it actually happened. First i’ll post my full list of symptoms that i found and how i treated them:
list of symptoms
As well as my first video that shows my core temperature going up, because i felt a hot flash coming on, and once again - decided to record it because i knew nobody would believe me if i didn’t. And please; don’t try and argue that measuring the back of my throat with an infrared thermometer “isn’t accurate”. If my body doesn’t produce 38,5C of heat, i can never measure 38,5C of heat. You have any more questions you can take it up with the youtuber thunderf00t who’s affiliate link i used to purchase said thermometer. If he says it’s accurate, it’s accurate. And if it’s not WHY ARE AIRPORTS ALL OVER THE WORLD USING THEM THEN HUH. Not to mention they measure foreheads which is completely stupid because if i go outside for a smoke and come back inside my forehead’s 30c and i should be dead.
Intermittent Fever
It’s that recording that convinced me to try movement. Because, not only does the fever recede quickly after a quick dance, but the fever only shows in full force if i stay perfectly still.
Finally i have to say; i might not have had Covid but something else. I could never get tested and am still trying to. Not because i’m going to sue people, which i am, but because if i did have it, i found a way to keep myself alive and i could possibly donate blood to those who can’t move anymore and keep them alive as well. I’m just looking to save some lives here; those i still can. Plenty will already die because the authorities cited policy, and no other reason then that. Even if i don’t have it. Plenty who do/did will never have gotten tested for the same reasons that i couldn’t get tested (not having been abroad).
So i’m putting all this info out there yet again. Even though i might need to come back later with my tail between my legs and go “Hey guess what! it was all just cancer, nothing to worry about!”. Only because when shit really hits the fan, and everything becomes an option… i hope it helps. I really, truly, just hope it helps. One case does not a cure make. But maybe a couple do.

For those who need some comic relief about how the WHO and authority is acting. Cause it’s nothing new under the sun

I am prepped. but nowhere near where I hoped considering i did most of a month back. I am used to isolating , really careful around flu season because our medical community are idiots. so I do not rely on them for anything.
Never the less, I am pretty much locked up… quarantine all foods coming in the home for years during flu season. still doing it - just more of it. I said after last week it was my last week out without PPE. And it was mostly just necessary shopping. I do need to go to the post office almost daily because of work - its my biggest risk… But i expect that to end soon. I try to shop off hours… But its hard now to avoid people shopping… and they all seem sick = lots of coughing last week when i was out… None previously. I was at home depot to pick up one fitting… and started for the register and just then the person in the isle hacking and coughing. just as i came by… i did a 180 and went back up and down another isle. Youd think you;d be ok just running in for a fitting and getting out… Nope… not any longer. So. I am going with plastic overalls and eyewhere and halfmask… , dont care what the rest of the world thinks… game on. I do have enough food to last a year… but that is beans and rice stuff. most of the good stuff will be gone in 3- 4 mos. , I need to reload , a bit here and there. I expect things to get much worse about 1 year out.

If you family is not on page , and is not going to change anything… you are pretty much doomed. You will get this. Not sure what that will mean… if anything in the long run - there is going to be a lot economic fall out… so id still prep and plan. But plan on being sick too. Get meds stocked. etc. fluids. etc.
As for elderly. I am getting there, if not for a small child of mine, Id say f this… and take a lawn chair and beer and watch the end of the world from front and center. So, the attitude is not an attitude that is normal or just a personality… its a , I lived life… I have nothing to lose. raised a family, I did everything I want. and i will continue to do it.

I am employed by a grocery chain and based in the Pacific Northwest - in the center of the first US cluster. We are in crisis mode. At this point, most of our in-store workforce is young and healthy. We, currently, have no more than the typical, incidental, callouts. But, even now, stores are unable to cope with the increased demand. Think of the consequences of school and business closures. People eat outside the home less. But they still need to eat as much. So grocery stores are seeing increased demand in affected areas. This means we order more every day. But then regional distribution centers become unable to meet the demands of the stores. So orders are not filled. Stores are cut short. Shelves start to empty as demand exceeds supply at each store. NOW, add in the fact that a percentage of the workforce becomes sick and is unable to move the limited supply of incoming load to the shelves. Shelves become emptier. Bottom line. Now would be an excellent time to deepen the pantry.

If you are really that worried about your home becoming infected, you should definitely go on Ebay or amazon and order an Ozonator. PLEASE Do some research on ozone…and ozone therapy!! I’ve been trying so hard to educate who ever will actually listen!! If u dont believe ME… I totally get it… but please go and check out Dr Robert Rowan’s youtube channel!! I’ve been watching him for years now. He is the one who went to Africa during the ebola outbreak, and CURED (not just “treated”) actually CURED EBOLA in every patient after 1 Treatment! But of course since the Gov’t cant capitalize on ozone, they wont recognize it…they’d rather you die! Once the African govt got word of dr rowan HEALING people, they ran him out of the country…threatened to KILL him if he didnt gtfo asap! Nice huh?! Anyway, get an ozonator an run it for an hour or so every day that they are gone… your home will be 100% virus free!! And if you do get sick, google an integrative dr who does ozone therapy in your area. Chances are, that dr was taught by dr Rowan!!! Good luck??

Seriously!! Research Ozone or home ozonator!! It will kill any virus out there! Just run it for about an hour when no one is home, and your house will pretty much be sterilized! If you wanna really learn about ozone check out Dr Robert Rowan on YouTube!! He actually used ozone therapy to cure ebola…shingles…cancer… and just about every other deadly disease & virus that’s been presented to him! ??

Be careful with credit cards , the banks will sue your estate, if you don’t have the spend away.

Well, I can certainly appreciate enthusiasm when I see it Jane, but after just a few cursory searches on the subject I started coming up with alarm bells discrediting the legitimacy of medical usages of ozone and warning of the dangers. For example it can cause edema when breathed into the lungs meaning your lungs fill with fluid. So I am not convinced its a very good idea in the fight against Covid infections. Maybe you can direct me to something else besides Dr Rowans site that does not come across like a miracle cure hard-sell.

From Wiki (if you still trust that site)
“Ozone therapy is a pseudoscience treatment that increases the amount of oxygen in the body through the introduction of ozone. In April 2016, the FDA prohibited all medical uses of ozone, “In any medical condition for which there is no proof of safety and effectiveness”, stating “Ozone is a toxic gas with no known useful medical application in specific, adjunctive, or preventive therapy. In order for ozone to be effective as a germicide, it must be present in a concentration far greater than that which can be safely tolerated by man and animals.” An overview of the history and practice of ozone therapy was published in the “Journal of Natural Science, Biology and Medicine” in 2011”

Looks like I’ll have to start shaving again soon…
I assume that this has been covered already, but just in case, instructions on cleaning/ disinfection of filters for the Sundström facemask: https://www.srsafety.com/support/articles/corona

I am not for or against vaccination. I use my judgement and know my own body. I have never reacted badly to a vaccine. That being said, I do not get vaccines, like for yearly flu, because I have alternative remedies that work better. One I do pay attention to is my every 10 year tetanus booster. Those here, who may be mucking about in the dirt for a first time garden, may want to go down to the public health dept. and get a shot. Another consideration is hepatitis A vaccination. Especially if you get stuck in a jail or quarantine situation not of your choosing. Good luck. #staytfhome. ??

Say WHAT? I just heard a local radio personality comment on Tom Hanks and his wife testing positive for the coronavirus, saying “the coronavirus don’t care, just like the honeybadger”!
BTW, very sad to hear about Tom Hanks and his wife testing positive. Here’s to hoping they are among the 80% of mild cases.

I don’t know if someone has already posted this, but I was very impressed with the courage of the NCAA to make this decision: NCAA tournament will be played without fans over coronavirus concerns

“While I understand how disappointing this is for all fans of our sports, my decision is based on the current understanding of how COVID-19 is progressing in the United States,” NCAA President Mark Emmert said in a statement. He added “this decision is in the best interest of public health.”

Ozone machines can be used only in spaces where no humans or animals are present and should be turned off for 1/2 hour minimum before entering space…Also …can be detrimental to electronics.
That said…we bought a machine to “treat” an airbnb cottage that we have between occupants… Any thoughts are welcome.

And that is why we don’t trade crypto kids. No circuit breakers, no barriers. Much like Oil. If it wants to drop 33% in a day it’ll just frickin do it. No real world applications currently - it’s all speculative. Even the future is speculative; as it’s “expected” that eventually crypto currency replaces/augments normal currency. Yet; you can do nothing more with Crypto that you can’t already do with normal fiat currency - except it costs a shitton of actual real world energy more. A bitcoin is as useless to you as a piece of paper. Otherwise; please make for me an Wedding band out of crypto currency. I mean i can always melt down my gold coins into a wedding band or two. Please somebody explain to me how we’re going to get back the coal we’ve burned so far “mining” bitcoin? The network uses up as much energy as FREAKIN IRELAND!
Gold and silver are down too, sure. -0,35% and -0,7% respectively. That’s what panic selling/liquidation/margin calling does, everything that’s liquid has to go.
The worrying thing is that the dollar index is only up +0,27% in all of this. The dollar market is large, but not that large. After all besides crypto the futures went limit down too, oil’s down another -6,5%, most ETF’s are absolutely getting taken out. To me it hints at massive amounts of dollar/value destruction happening right now. I mean if everybody is selling everything to get cash, cash should be up something serious… right?
My gold though… Still up massively for the year. Silver’s down somewhat from my last position too, sure, but by not nearly as much as i was expecting. The recent rally upto 560 euro a kilo’s cushioned my losses quite nicely (since i took up position on december 8th. I’m down <1%) even though i bought it at that price expecting a 25% decline. It’s only been 15-16% off highs a month ago so far.
In the end - the proof is in the pudding. This entire market crash was crypto’s first and most important real world test. If the market crashes, What does crypto do?
Crypto goes down. Hard, fast, far. Bitcoin last hit 10,000 on the 23rd of february. 18 days later, today, it’s down 38% (from 10k to 6,2k). Well beyond a correction, or bear market, straight into a goddamn crash.
You wanna own it that’s fine. I aint gonna judge after all time. I’ve seen people bet on crazier things then crypto, which again, the crypto process does have value, it’s just the coins that roll out of it at the end that are worthless. But just know - it is now proven that Crypto, in it’s current form, is not, nor will it ever be, a safe haven, or a currency.

Read in Eugene, Register Guard on line ed., four more corona cases on the westside of the state. Two in a veterans old folks home. All community spread. I think that brings our state total to 19. Sad to see relatively isolated North Dakota got its first case. Talked to friend there, yesterday, the snow is just melting, so probably more travel, now.

It’s from a buddy of mine i met via streaming who lives in Hawaii. Appearantly Aloe vera gel’s in low supply too.
EDIT: What about buying vodka and then distilling it, raising it from 40% to about 65% alcohol?
I mean alcohol boils at a higher temperature then water; so it shouldn’t be impossible to collect and distill vodka into sanitizer in a pinch with some form of kitchen setup. I’d build a simple setup myself but i have no experience in distilling alcohol (i’m sure somebody around here does). It doesn’t have to be safe to drink either so that lowers the quality/safety standards (also why would you if you already have vodka)…
editedit: Alright you guys aren’t going to like this but i just remembered something. The people in my city have a nickname of “kuikenzeikers” or “jarpissers” freely translated. The reason for this is that there used to be a lot of textile industry here. And, in the old days when soap wasn’t known about yet, they used to wash textiles in Urine. Because urine contained Ammonia.
Now of course that process is lost on modern me. And the internet isn’t helpful. There’s talk of ammonium hydroxide (so water and ammonia) but all i’m getting is dozens of sites saying the same thing: “don’t mix ammonia with bleach”. Why thank you so much, how about when i don’t have any bleach?
Now that might sound silly but we produce plenty of Urine, at some point hospitals are going to run out of bleach, and urine is sterile. Sure, it might smell bad and yes, if you leave it somewhere out in the open it’s a very good breeding ground for bacteria. But as long as bacteria can’t get to it (aka it’s… fresh) it might be better then nothing?
I need somebody with some more chemistry experience to explain that to me.

Sweden might be doing it even more wrong than the rest.
Some highlights include the head epidemologist at our CDC, Anders Tegnell, claiming that the risk for community spread here was low, while it was spreading like wildfire through Italy. and then just a couple of weeks later that changed to “high” instead. The same agency adviced against halting flights from high-risk countries and said closing schools was unneccessary because they, wrongly, claimed “children do not transmit the virus.”
Now Tegnell is critizing Spotify for telling employees to work from home because he thinks it is unequal because “not everyone can work from home.” He sees that as a threat to public equality and thinks “everyone should have equal oppurtunity to stay healthy.” Not seeming to understand the benefits of trying reducing the number of people exposed to the virus or maybe caring more about his left-wing ideals.
He also sneezed right into his hands during a press conference…
https://nyheteridag.se/tegnell-ojamlikt-att-spotifys-anstallda-far-jobba-hemma/
The worst might be the most recent developement. The Swedish defence department produced many high-quality face masks for protection against biological, chemical and nuclear weapons. These masks are stockpiled in massive quantities and were offered to hospitals and emergency responders for protection against the Wuhan virus. You would think everyone would agree that is a good thing to do, but the Swedish agency for work place safety thinks otherwise and have BANNED the use of these masks because they are not approved for use by the EU; they lack CE-certification. The reason for that being that they were produced before CE-certification was introduced and thus cannot be certified because only currently produced products can be, according to the rules. So healthcare workers and emergency responders will go unprotected over a technicality, because of government agency bureaucrats.

No matter how bad other countries do, you can always count on socialist Swedish authorities to make them look good, and down-right competent, in comparison.

Most of us here perked up and noticed that something wasn’t right at least 4- 6 weeks ago. This didn’t pass most of our “initial smell” test or was on our radar to keep an eye on. Most of us started going about targeting specific preps, targeted information, and planting the seeds with those whom are close to us.
We are the ones that notice the smoke in the movie theater before there is a fire, start moving out of the movie theater and encourage others to do so. We have also passed the point that most people with a good level of intelligence and street sense have also noted the small fire and moved out of the theater. We are now at that mid point where a good number of people have taken note of the fire and are panicking as they try and get out of the theater. We still have the theater half full but some people are waiting until the initial mass exodus occurs before they leave since they don’t want to get trampled but could get burned by the fire. Then we have the people that are going to stay in that theater as long as possible because they paid good money for the movie, they refuse to realize the gravity of the situation.
We are all somewhere on that bell curve distribution of response to situations and it is difficult and exasperating when regardless of what we present to others they do not truly consider it because of something internal that doesn’t allow for truly open analysis of a situation.
Don’t ever be ashamed of being an astute and resourceful person. If you can make one person cover a cough, get more meds, get more food, self isolate, convince a civic leader; you are helping for the greater good.
The government is always trying to manage to the middle of the bell curve on large issues because whatever the perceived problem is they want to appease the most people to keep the status quo.

Honey Badger virus is exposing the rich and powerful to be just as stupid and unhealthy as most of the rest of the population. Honey Badger don’t care, it’ll eat a snake or a pretty bird. The great equalizer.
