US Attacks Venezuela, Captures President Maduro, Destroys Mausoleum with Hugo Chávez's Remains

Any definitive calls on the main reasons for doing this, this soon after it happened are likely to be wrong.

So far today i have heard the following:

Dominion and associates need to be shut down for voting integrity.

Its all about oil

Its all about stopping the drug flows.

We need to deal cartels a hard blow.

And on it goes. We will likely only know what the most dedicated independent slueths dig up. Or whatever spin the media tries to force feed us. Everybody who wants attention is just making the circus crazier by jumping to conclusions that are likely wrong. Ill let it play out and keep prepping…

This ain’t over because now Trump is threatening three more Latin American countries.

“Trump issues warnings to three Latin American states: Mexico, Colombia and Cuba have all condemned the US military operation against Venezuela as a grave violation of sovereignty”

Some folks explained “ISIS-K” and taliban have factions that hate each other. Regardless, all of them hate murica and west. Taliban was causing explosions in India Pakistan clash.
China wont care, as long as mineral flows. Much cheaper than 1Tn$ occupation.

I get this same vibe as from previous US campaigns. More terrorists as result than goodwill, despite claimed NGO programs flushing in taxpayer cash to locals. How this will turn out in south america/VZ, some different flavour but overall similar bolivar type effect. Can they do anything? Perhaps not, so leaders in west simply ignore it. Thus it could fester underground even 20 years (VZ could be more unified people than ragtag tribal terrorists who cant do anything together outside family and clan).
Also Im not sure how real those tv series/movie plots are, but Maduro could make “deal” and get free like criminals in NYC, if they work with CIA/DEA/TLAs.. giving bad optics to everyone in US and VZ/wider countries following this.

That’s not on Trump directly but corporations taking all profit while nothing got better for people locally. Pattern that has repeated countless times in world and then US administration always pretends surprised when people end up taking rifles and machine guns when they were not heard. It is really cheap really to avoid that, FDR already had concept.

When the last emperor of China was forced to abdicate, I read an anecdote in Edwin S. Bingham’s “The Saga of Los Angeles’ Chinese” (1948) in the library at Occidental College about American-born Chinese young men marching in groups through the Old Chinatown, grabbing older Chinese men, and cutting off their “queue” ponytails that up until that point had been a sign of fealty to their emperor. It was a sign of permanent exclusion from normal civil affairs for the young men; they were fairly happy to see the old regime go.

As regards Venezuela the drug dealing cartel coordinator and Venezuela the election fraud puppet master - I bought a horribly written, and horribly edited, book by Ralph Pezzullo entitled “Stolen Elections: The Plot to Destroy Democracy” that covers those topics in some depth.

His interview with Lara Logan covers the highlights of the book, which I do not recommend. The tale is a fun one - but the narrative seems too perfect; the back half of the book is Appendices A through G of ChatGPT generated text! There is no index, and there are no footnotes nor bibliography. I supposed the publisher ran out of ChatGPT money.

As a result of this low-trust book, I am heavily discounting any “it’s the drugs” or “it’s the election theft” stories.

One piece of evidence that has me more interested in the “it’s the drugs” narrative is a recent interview with former Honduran president (and convicted, and pardoned, felon) Juan Orlando Hernández. Hernández has made clear in post-pardon interviews that the Biden administration was extremely angry with him for blowing up any boats or airplanes flying over Honduras that would not identify themselves properly with Honduran authorities. It crippled drug trafficking, he said, and more importantly put a rapid halt to the crimes associated with that industry - murder, kidnapping, corruption in Honduras.

The former Honduran president’s interview made me think that there is probably something behind the U.S. mimicking a similar strategy. According to Hernandez, it is effective to fire on boats and planes failing to properly identify themselves.

Have you seen the memes of Rubio on the couch wearing a Venezuelan sash and a displeased look on his face with a caption, “Rubio finds out he is now the president of Venezuela.”?

It’s early days and I think that the Duran are way out over their skies. I would even hesitate to call it a regime change operation. The current Venezuelan vice president has apparently already been appointed as head of state. Trump has also said that Machado has no support in Venezuela so she’s out.

China and Russia will make noises but they have no ability (or desire?) to project power in South America. I don’t see how it makes them look bad.

This may be an operation against the CIA, Dominion election fraud and CIA money laundering for all we know. The Duran is stuck in the frame that the USA is always the big bad bully and all roads lead to Washington. This is the weakness in their analysis. I think international affairs are much more opaque and nuanced.

Whether the USA annexes Greenland or not, who actually cares? What gives Denmark the right to rule Greenland, they’re just colonisers and have done horrible things to the Inuit. The Danish will bleat but have no actual say in the matter, that’s the reality of it. The consensus model of international affairs appears to be dying and a new paradigm is emerging. In a situation like this planting a garden is probably a very good idea.

Yea I thought that CIA(drug revenue/deepstate) angle that Trump needs to consider… they could have done this same op in 2023 or even years prior, all special agents were in place, no idea why it wasnt done… possibly CIA or TLAs opposed due to drug revenue or other shady reasons(human trafficking).

Geopolitics channels always miss this domestic US angle nuance… partly because it is too complex(nuanced) to sell clicks in podcast, partly because it requires deep understanding of US domestic functioning(most of those people live abroad, eg Duran folks).

What affirms this view is that Mar-a-lago is still the place to meet VIP people, so DC is “dangerous” for Trump. (I guess watergate scandal 2.0 is big risk there)

Recent days and weeks Trump press releases and comments to journos have been spot on. No rambling for hours like in election campaign. That to me tells they have no time to waste and things are serious.

Russia and China will fall in line but rogue entities like CIA must be kept in check or other countries cant trust US. I dont know what was deal with democrats, possibly because they spread cash everywhere to bribe mouths shut, but it didnt solve anything and now US is teetering with debtload to not be able to use that option anymore or China could call bluff. Not that they necessarily want to but cornering them could force their hand.

With Putin, Russia is paper tiger. No idea what “deal” there is but US could destroy them if they got serious. I’d think rope is given to save faces for now, but perhaps time runs out at some point. US definitely dont want to occupy Moscow and clean mess and dirt there like they stated to do in Caracas, so Putin can stay. Just Biden and Obama eras had shown Russia and China always poke around if let to do so, eg have new missile bases in Venezuela and whatnot, but they budge when US shoots rockets at wagner in Syria.

Main dynamic Trump vs Obama, Biden is that Trump takes care of family. In Obama and Biden(and Macron and many other liberals) main guy is simply cash cow and status machine for rest of family who dont care about Biden or Obama (or in Hillary case), so they can turn against that guy in instant they stop to deliver goodies. For Trump family these lunatics have already threatened almost every member of Trump family and associates so that is not out of question, especially when Trump term ends. They already got Charlie.

This aspect is why Im most disappointed in liberals/lefties whatever to call them(GOP members in white house also each have handler or sponsor so Im not leaving them out either). They might have PhD’s in psychology, history and whatnot but they are not leadership quality. At highest level it is like high school but NFL level. It is not important what degree or career experience one has there if one cant keep subordinates in check. Hundred PhD people of every kind can be found but if they refuse to work for you coz TDS or something, what good is it. Machiavelli is important, as there are many groups to keep in check in highest position. Easy to read, hard to do in real life.

I give that much that always in powerstruggle fearmongering is used. But some folks come as hubristic, righteous, not scared. They are mostly annoyed Trump got in power and want him out. Same of course works other way. That means folks wont do homework coz they are “entitled” to being right to win and other guy is simply wrong.

And they would be 100% correct! When you start a war in Russia’s backyard by using Ukraine, that results in killing hundreds of thousands on both sides, when you have a rouge agency such as the CIA, target Putin’s residence with 90+ drones, how can anyone not come to that conclusion?

Even former US military and CIA personnel are all saying the US is out of control and acting as a terrorist state. This is what a dying Empire looks like and behaves like. This playbook has been tried by pretty much every Empire on the world stage until someone decides to fight back.

Actually this is nice to see. My girlfriend ‘Elina’ was murdered in Caracas somewhere around the time that the leadership was changing from Chavez to Maduro. She told me it was too dangerous to go out at night. Turns out it was too dangerous period to live in Caracas then. I found out later that at that time Caracas was the designated as the “murder capitol of the world”. Bodies were being brought to funeral homes every hour of the day and night. They couldn’t do normal preparation or burials due to the overwhelming number of bodies coming in. Probably just put them all in pits or cremated them as fast as they came in.

Yes, I understand that’s how it appears but I’m suggesting it’s too simplistic. This hypothesis assumes that the USA is a monolith but that’s not the case in my view. Trump has to deal with both internal and external enemies in extracting the USA out of Ukraine. There are very powerful interests within and without who want the war in Ukraine to continue and that is certainly not in America’s interest. The question then arises in whose interest is it? Who has been explicitly blocking all Trump’s efforts to end the war and reach an understanding with Russia? I think one has to look at the traitorous American intel agencies (deep state) and the EU/UK. That’s where the real evil lies.

Which then leads me to the following question: Could it be that the American civil war has already begun? I don’t have the answers but all roads lead to Washington is too pat of a conclusion in my view and hinders deeper analysis.
