BTW, in Ontario, there are no acceptable exceptions to vaccination except anaphylactic (severe allergic) reaction to previous shots.
Doctors have been warned (threatened) that if they tried to write exception letters, they could lose their license.

Steve Kirsch reported today on substack the US Truckers facebook group was deleted for violating Qanon policies the Zuckerberg lizard people deem unfit for dissemination. They were organizing to drive to Washington DC in the same way as the Canadian truckers. They need help.

That makes two of us.
The big problem so far is that there isn’t anyone sympathetic to the needs of free citizens who seems ready to take the reigns. The conservative leader wasn’t exactly promising to put these truckers on our money and now he’s lost his job.
Next up we have the Far Left NDP leader who has condemned the truckers and everything they stand for and lamented that he has to suffer people in his own family who are sympathetic to the truckers (being a liberal is hard).
I liked Jan’s earlier post about this weekends events shaping up to have a dance party theme. This idea of a love-in seems like the right kind of politics right about now. Just keep building the movement until the existing politicians defect from Team Fear.

I’m encouraged at your government’s recent stated desire to end mandates and passports. I recognize that they were likely forced upon you and your government initially and appreciate the difficult situation you’ve faced. These policies are egregious violations of Canada’s basic rights and freedoms that must go immediately. Even worse, Trudeau’s reprehensible polarizing hate speech has disgraced Canada and inflamed many Canadians. All of these actions are diametrically opposite to what I understand conservative values to be. I would also submit that a rapidly growing segment of Ontarians are waking up to the reality that the material risks of the pandemic have already receded and the public policy tactics are now doing significant societal harm with virtually no real benefit.
So I write to you to as a retired professional risk manager to offer suggestions for a quick exit strategy from mandates, passports and lockdowns.
- Immediately start to alleviate people’s anxiety about the health risk of COVID. How?
- Get the media to stop incessantly broadcasting case counts. This is absolutely not a meaningful indication of risk to health at this point and is the single greatest source of fear.
- Use your own ministry of health data, properly interpreted, to ease fear. The data clearly shows that despite being highly infectious, COVID is no longer a dangerous pathogen to the majority of the population.
- Augment your own data with that from other countries, like South Africa, who are now through the omicron wave. The data clearly shows that this bug has become similar to the common cold for the vast majority of people.
- Remind people that viruses invariably become less harmful to human populations as the virus and human immune systems evolve to non-threatening state.
- Ramp up messaging that this virus is endemic and we need to move forward without restrictions.
- Talk about a strategic public policy approach that is targeted to the truly vulnerable (elderly and those with serious co-morbidities) while reassuring the vast majority of the public as outlined above.
- Stop the advertising about getting vaccinated or boosted. People are waking up to the fact that the vaccines have failed on every measure and claim.
- End the mandates and passports before the spring election.

The Truckers have claimed their first “victim”. Trudeau is head of the Liberal party (in power). The Conservative party has the second most amount of seats in the House of Commons (parliament ) - called the oppostion party. They just canned their leader basically because he would not recognize the Truckers. Chris, your point is generally well-taken but needs a minor correction to get a true apples-to-apples comparison. Covid-19 did not really begin to weigh in here in the US until March 2020. So a better alignment of the charts would be March-to-March. As the chart stands now, the comparison of 2020 to 2021 is really not quite appropriate because the first two or three months of 2020 were effectively pre-Covid and should therefore be excluded.
