Coronavirus: The Calm Before The Storm?

The Worldmeters report gives us some good clues to those more susceptible.
couple of notes:
For the morbidity chart -keep in mind there are many open cases in this data. If we keep the same 72k sample size, and follow these people through completion these death rates will only go up (eg; there are still 10k + serious/critical condition in the 72k that have no final disposition.)
Also throw in the obligatory this data is from the China CDC…

Until our tax dollars can make it official…15, 29, 52 pick-up, 7-11 baby needs a new pair of shoes, craps, you lose…BTW, the Last Man on Earth series is starting to look prescient.

CDC is closely monitoring an outbreak of respiratory illness caused by a novel (new) coronavirus. The outbreak first started in Wuhan, China, but cases have been identified in a growing number of other international locations, including the United States. This page will be updated regularly on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/cases-in-us.html
Tune in tomorrow, same bat time, same bat channel.

Mark,
I did a ton of research on the 24-25th. There is a ton of online help and forums on diy solar. You can order on Amazon. I ordered all I need for a reasonable “emergancy” size solar install, and will be doing it myself in the coming weeks.
If you, or anyone else is interested in some links to a great DIY source/forum, PM me.

What really worries me is, if they start talking about they have enough food reserve, it probably means that they’re having big problems with this.

On Feb 1, one official report says #Hubei has enough food supplies to sustain the entire province for a year. 5 days later, On Feb 6, another official report says enough food for 6 months. If they consume 6 months’ supply in five days, will people start to starve soon? #COVID19

Never criticize a man or woman until you have walked a mile in their shoes.
Especially in light of an impending worldwide crisis, we should show each other compassion. You never know when that person you criticize will be the one to save your life.

The Chinese report says these cinerators' internal temperature is high as 850 °C, and can constantly finish burning things within 2 seconds, and kill all germs. #COVID19

40 such mobile “ #Trash & Animal carcass” cinerators sent to #Wuhan, each has a capacity to process 5 tons of “trash and animal carcasses “ daily. What is really got burned and how many?

Coronavirus 20 times more lethal than the flu? Death toll approaches 2,000

Coronavirus Outcomes Range From Pandemic to a New Flu, Experts Say

“We are just getting started,” he said. “If this spreads around the world, this will be just south of the 1918 pandemic,” he said, referring to the pandemic flu that killed millions a century ago. “The next three weeks are going to be critical.” https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-02-18/when-will-the-coronavirus-outbreak-end-experts-give-predictions

So going by the mortality numbers presented in today’s Zerohedge article from a Chinese research paper, we can now estimate our personal risk profiles.
For example in my own age group of 60 to 69 there is a 3.6% fatality rate but it is roughly double for males versus females.
So for each woman dying of this disease there are two men who do not survive which means risk is quite high for this group for men (a lot of us on this site fall inside that demographic so this is going to be of interest here).
Someone with better math skills than me can maybe figure out the risk percentages once we factor in a preexisting condition like diabetes at 6% of mortality figures.
Needless to say, some of us here could be at extreme risk if presenting with multiple preexisting conditions. So caution in avoiding being exposed to this illness is going to be a serious matter.
Like I said before, unless you are REALLY sick, stay the hell away from hospitals and clinics!

This is a copy and paste from CDC web site https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/about/testing.html The way I read this is that there is a problem with the reagent in the "diagnostic panel test"... the test that should be but is now NOT being used by local state health authorities... "CDC has developed a new laboratory test kit for use in testing patient specimens for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), the virus that causes COVID-19. The test kit is called the “Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) 2019-Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) Real-Time Reverse Transcriptase (RT)-PCR Diagnostic Panel.” It is intended for use with the Applied Biosystems 7500 Fast DX Real-Time PCR Instrument with SDS 1.4 software. This test is intended for use with upper and lower respiratory specimens collected from persons who meet CDC criteria for COVID-19 testing. CDC’s test kit is intended for use by laboratories designated by CDC as qualified, and in the United States, certified under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) to perform high complexity tests. The test kits also will be shipped to qualified international laboratories, such as World Health Organization (WHO) Global Influenza Surveillance Response System (GISRS) laboratories. The test will not be available in U.S. hospitals or other primary care settings. The kits will be distributed through the International Reagent Resourceexternal icon (IRR) On Monday, February 3, 2020, CDC submitted an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) package to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in order to expedite FDA permitted use of the CDC diagnostic panel in the United States. The EUA process enables FDA to consider and authorize the use of unapproved, but potentially life-saving medical or diagnostic products during a public health emergency. The U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services declared the SARS-CoV-2 virus a U.S. public health emergency on Friday, January 31, 2020. FDA issued the EUA on February 4, 2020. IRR began distribution of the test kits to states, but shortly thereafter performance issues were identified related to a problem in the manufacturing of one of the reagents which led to laboratories not being able to verify the test performance. CDC is remanufacturing the reagents with more robust quality control measures. New tests will be distributed once this issue has been addressed. CDC continues to perform initial and confirmatory testing."

I think we will see the beginning of problems with med shortages when people have to go to 5 different pharmacies for any medication. People understandably become overwhelmed at the counter and can become quite angry and overwhelmed. I have seen this myself and feel for people who are going through the anxiety of getting sick from missing their meds. How can we help people prepare emotionally? Compassion and support still matters with this issue.

Reading the transcript of the Feb 14 CDC media press briefing this is what I found… I have cut and pasted the critical info from cdc transcript and provided the link.
https://www.cdc.gov/media/releases/2020/t0214-covid-19-update.html.html
"THE CDC HAS BEGUN WORKING WITH FIVE PUBLIC HEALTH LABS TO CONDUCT COMMUNITY BASED INFLUENZA BASED SURVEILLANCE SO WE CAN TEST THOSE WITH FLU LIKE SYMPTOMS FOR NOVEL CORONAVIRUS. THOSE PUBLIC HEALTH LABS ARE IN LOS ANGELES, SAN FRANCISCO, SEATTLE, CHICAGO AND NEW YORK CITY AND I WANT TO THANK THEM FOR THEIR PARTICIPATION, COLLABORATION AND SUPPORT…
SO THE FIRST QUESTION IN TERMS OF WHAT PUBLIC HEALTH LABS ARE TALKING ABOUT, THESE ARE THE SAME PUBLIC HEALTH LABS THAT WE HAVE BEEN TALKING ABOUT THE NETWORK OF PUBLIC HEALTH LABS … THEY’RE PART OF THE NATIONAL SURVEILLANCE NETWORK THAT WE DO FOR INFLUENZA WHICH IS WHY I DIRECT YOU TO FLU VIEW. THEY’RE CURRENTLY TESTING FOR INFLUENZA AND THE IDEA IS THEY’LL TEST THE INFLUENZA NEGATIVE SPECIMENS FOR NOVEL CORONAVIRUS. SORRY, FOR SARS COVID 2. SO IT’S BASICALLY TAKING THE ALREADY EXISTING INFLUENZA PUBLIC HEALTH LABORATORY SURVEILLANCE AND LOOKING AT THOSE THAT ARE FLU NEGATIVE FOR THIS NEW VIRUS. AGAIN, IT’S AN EFFICIENT WAY TO STAND UP SOMETHING VERY QUICKLY. IN TERMS OF THE LAB KITS AS WE HAVE TALKED ABOUT WE CAN BE PROUD OF HOW RAPIDLY OUR LABORATORY — WE CAN DEVELOP THE LAB DIAGNOSTIC IT IS BEING USED AT CDC UNDER THEY’RE CURRENTLY TESTING FOR INFLUENZA AND THE IDEA IS THEY’LL TEST THE INFLUENZA NEGATIVE SPECIMENS FOR NOVEL CORONAVIRUS. SORRY, FOR SARS COVID 2. …
HIGH QUALITY STANDARDS AS WE MOVED QUICKLY TO GET THAT OUT TO THE STATE AND THE STATES DID THEIR OWN VERIFICATION, THERE WERE SOME PROBLEMS WITH ONE OF THE REAGENTS AT THE STATE — THAT THE STATES IDENTIFIED. THEY WERE GETTING INDETERMINANT ANSWERS WHICH IS A SIGN THAT THERE NEEDED TO BE SOMETHING DONE DIFFERENTLY. SO WHAT WE’RE DOING AT CDC IS REFORMULATING THOSE REAGENTS AND WE ARE MOVING QUICKLY TO GET THOSE BACK OUT TO OUR LABS AT THE STATE AND LOCAL PUBLIC HEALTH LABS. BUT OBVIOUSLY WE HOLD OURSELVES TO THE HIGH QUALITY STANDARD AS WE SHOULD AND AS OUR STATE AND LOCAL PARTNERS DO AND WE WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT EVERY DOT IS DOTTED AND EVERY “T” IS CROSSED BEFORE WE PUT THE KITS OUT. AS SOON AS I HAVE AN ACTUAL TIME LINE I’LL GIVE IT TO YOU BUT I HATE TO PROJECT BECAUSE I WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT EVERYTHING IS DONE AT THE HIGHEST POSSIBLE LEVEL THAT CDC AND FTA AND ALL OF YOU EXPECT OF US. NEXT QUESTION.

I hadn’t seen that.
And as you stated, no way 3 is the proper #. As we both know, the medical system in India is pathetic, and the population is packed tight…where there’s 3, there’s 3000.

This is malpractice - they are not doing a service to the community. They should be educating like PP and dare I say North Korea.

It saddens me that many people sprint to the doctor to get a pill to fix their feelings or ills.
