Is it possible to detect a crack-thump difference of 1 millisecond and reliably and validly distinguish it from a crack-thump difference of 0 milliseconds if the crack is not the 120dB shock wave itself, but rather the sound wave that continues to propagate after the Mach cone has “frozen”? Both the crack and the thump are approximately 90 dB, i.e., equally loud.

You know that the time difference (tdiff) between the “shock wave” (SW) and the “muzzle blast” (MB) for a supersonic gunshot is dependent on the distance between the shooter and the perpendicular projection of the microphone position on the bullet trajectory and also on the speed of the bullet relative to that of the sound.

Can you calculate the distance of the trajectories to the stage microphone without assuming that the first shot hit Trump?

But only with the assumption that Crooks fired from his position.
