So It's Back To First Principles

Oops, sorry, I confused Fico with that attempt in Bulgaria years ago. This Fico one I had not heard about.

Yeah, I just caught the HSI guy’s top when I watched it.

All good finds, and I’ll grab them for the next revision.

As for the Secret Service, there are far more players than we were looking at initially. We haven’t even begun to scratch the surface on the Advance Team. Here are just a few slides of my USSS deep dive which is still in progress.

I’ll use this screenshot for Herald but still have the watch image in his ID slide.

Since he was at the gate ramming, I checked Dave Stewart’s extended cut video to see if we would see him at gate hurdle 2. I think he was the first one through, but he lost his hat somewhere between hurdle 1 and 2.

Two things to keep in mind:
a) on DJStewart’s video we can actually see Crooks on the ridge cap just before shot #1 (and that’s video taken from the ground level…)
b) TMZvideo’s camera was not parallel with the building… the angle gives the perception Crooks is before reaching the ridge line, which I don’t believe is the case.

Great find! Sorey, would you by any chance have a yt link to this video? Also, how could you tell it was between 18?02 and 18:05 ? Speech audio, probably, yes?

The first time I remember realizing what is on a film is not exactly what it appears. In the opening of the 1971 movie Le Mans, Steve McQueen is driving a 911. When he takes off the wheels turn forward, when they reach a certain speed, they appear to turn backwards. It is their rate of revolution compared to the frame rate of the movie camera. Someone had to explain to me what caused that effect.

That is just one of the optical illusions in pictures and movies. Every so often I need to be reminded of those facts.

Had to look it up… watched it only once.

Cognitive miser

#Cognitive miser - Wikipedia

In psychology, the human mind is considered to be a cognitive miser due to the tendency of humans to think and solve problems in simpler and less effortful ways rather than in more sophisticated and effortful ways, regardless of intelligence. Just as a miser seeks to avoid spending money, the human mind often seeks to avoid spending cognitive effort.

Another part in the USSS-HSGAC-Interim-Report that is not fully accurate.

6:08:32 pm
A Butler Township PD officer radioed on the local officers’ radio channel, “[s]omeone’s
on the roof. […] I have someone on the roof with white shorts."

“Someone’s on the roof” was radioed most likely by Paul Kuss (BWC2-122111) at 18:08:22 and can be heared in dashcam M500-010482. Followed by “I have someone on the roof with white shorts” at 18:08:35

I don’t think he was the first one through.
Pay attention to the yellow stripe on his pants, the others don’t have it. He lost his hat somewhere around the 1st gate (not to see in the video).
For time reference, here when he’s first captured by Pearsons bodycam

The first one through had a regular Trooper hat

I referred to Robert Fico. Attempted assassination of Robert Fico - Wikipedia

I don’t think an ordinary american has heard about. So it is suspicious that Crooks was looking for that event. From what circle got the information? Any relation to the Florida assasination attempt?

About ten years ago the ukrainians had cut the gas pipe and Fico went to Kiev, but the negotiations did not take place. He had to wait several hours. (Guess why.) Then a press conference was pulled up and Fico was humilated publicly as being Russian agent and enemy. When recently Fico was re-elected again, he took the revenge by cancelling furter weapon donations.

Ryan Slack with the black tactical ladder.
Small and big guy are, what I think, from the Cat1 team (Butler County ESU)

If I’m right with the CAT1 team, then here is a good part of them rowed up.
If I had to guess, from left to right: Mikulan (he seems to be the teamleader, as Lt he also has the highest rank), Soler, Oesterling, Fleming and May. Therefore Schaffner and Niderlander not there.

So many there at the rally but they couldn’t include the AGR complex in their security perimeter. It’s pathetic

Swarming like bees after the shooting, the same with PSP. Yet so far we’ve only seen 1 HSI police, and some in the media, including, if Memory serves me, some on the right who had “credible” anonymous sources, would like us to believe that the USSS was short handed and had to rely on other DHS agencies to provide enough manpower. It’s deflection as far as I’m concerned.

The same with the siloed radio excuse. Deflection. Granted, the USSS appeared to have issues with their radios, and how they communicated within their own groups, but it only took 2 minutes from the time Nicol radioed his sighting of Crooks seen using a rangefinder (and those who deny the range finder please don’t bother me again with your nonsense, I’m not in the mood today) to BuC command and for BuC command to call PSP who in turn conveyed it in person to USSS. It took Nicol 10 times that long to finally let others outside of the C-S group know about a suspicious person. A whopping 2 minutes would have been saved if each group had a representative in each other’s command post, which I believe is the smart thing to do, it’s just not the “glaring problem” the media and Congress would have us believe it was.

Failure to post anyone on the AGR grounds is a “glaring problem, and it sure appears to me that between the USSS and PSP they had plenty of manpower to do that.

Nearly identical looking emblem:

They appear in dashcam for M500-010482, around timestamp 19:39:20 cam time. The group of 13 dressed in olive drab gear crossing the screen.

There is also another patch that pops up here:

McKeesport SWAT situation ends with suspect in custody (wtae.com)

The fact that they appear on cam so late in the event and are not mentioned on the detail report I feel indicates they were not on site when the shooting happened and were called in in response to the shooting (despite there already being two county ESU groups already on scene, all kinds of locals, psp, usss, etc…).

Very good find! Both are in Allegheny County. I’ll add them to the uniform slides in the Recognition Tool. I wonder what the travel time is between those areas and Butler are, compared to the time they are seen on site. Plus the time to gear up and team up. It could be they were already on standby just in case.

North Hills is a suburb of Pittsburgh. It would be about a 45-minute drive to Butler.

Thank you!
As I am not sure as to where their main operating facility is located, here is travel time from Ross Township:

42 minutes best route, though there are other factors such as driving over posted limits (I would presume an SRT responding to this shooting would speed) and ongoing construction projects (which they very well could and should have known about ahead of time and could very well have taken a route to avoid), amongst others.

@rough_country_gypsy @redranamber

Another thought I had was maybe they were at or on standby for the Jill Biden event and got called away from that. I don’t even know the time of that event. They might have even been at the Pittsburgh airport, too. Butler definitely wasn’t the only event or location the USSS needed local law enforcement support for protecting.
