The official story is that the Beaver County ESU sniper (Greg Nicol) left to look for Crooks, but that the Butler County ESU sniper (name unknown, surname probably starts with M) stayed.

I agree ultimately the SS failed in their mission. This should never have happened. Benz basically makes the case that Crooks probably didnāt act alone. He was coached and was setup. Of course nothing is definitive in his thesis and perhaps even nothing is new from the speculation here and elsewhere regarding this incident.

Chris, if two snipers were posted inside that same building, they have to explain two things. Number one and since they claim they could not see the shooter, how could none of them become aware of the commotion under their windows, as people frantically tried to point out to police officers where they saw Crooks on top of that roof?
Number two, why were two snipers posted inside that same building, while one would have been sufficient, and the second one not posted on top of the roof to have a wider coverage?
And yes, you are right about Officer Greg, his behavior seems a little āoffā after the shooting. Iāve been working in the security industry for over 28 years and while on duty a few years ago, I got myself wounded during an armed robbery. After the shooting that left two robbers dead, the adrenalin was pumping in my veins. Eighty-six casings were recovered after the shooting, and I remember when all fell silent, I still expected that someone was hiding somewhere and could start shooting at me at any time.
Doesnāt matter how well you are trained or how much experience you have, fear will always be present, but instead of going into panic mode, a trained professional like Greg would have acted with caution, instead of coming out of that building so casually.
Also, you raised a very good point at the end of your video, who manned Officer Nicholās rifle when he left his post? It is Standard Operating Procedure and a golden rule never to leave your firearm assigned to you unattended. That constitutes firearm negligence. No matter how well you are acquainted with your colleagues, you just donāt do it. If you signed for a firearm and if it is authorized to be in your possession, it is your responsibility, especially after a shooting occurred two minutes ago, because now its integrity is compromised; anyone could have tampered with it while he left his rifle unattended.
These guys really acted like rookies.
If Greg Nicol knew he would be in that corner room with that funky looking firearm, why would he need also to have a snipers outfitted rifle?
It seems like Nicol had a pretty normal sniper rifle and Butler sniper āMā had the oddly stubby weapon. Maybe that will help us ID him if we see him come out of the building with it.

It seems like thereās some confusion around Greg Smithās testimony because people kept referring to windows on the east side of the building, but we think Greg was on the west side. I wish one of us with X would try to get in touch with him, get him to show some proof itās him, and we can ask him for details and try to help him.
I think the confusion was that Candice Owens reported that he had given her information that seemed to suggest he was on the east side, but I think she just misunderstood what he was saying. He clearly was on the west side.

In terms of audio sounding different, unfortunately I think that is highly inconclusive when considering it has been captured by moving smartphones. Regarding smartphones recordings, we need to consider a few things (and I know, I designed a few of those):
The sounds captured by these microphones are modified via software to optimise for different functions of the phone (video calls, voice recognition, video and audio recording, etc.).
So when video recording the smartphone software is constantly messing up with the audio in order to optimise it for whatever it āthinksā will give you the best output.
For video, normally clear audio of someone speaking is the most important feature, so there is a LOT of NOISE REDUCTION going on, which could definitely affect the sound signatures of background noises, especially if the device is on the move and pointing at different directions.
I believe all smartphone audio captures are good to look at, but ONLY the stage microphone recoding can give reliable data for audio analysis.
Just wanted to share my 2 cents on this.
This still doesnāt make sense because Greg Nichol says he opened the door to talk to two police officers.
Unless that was on the west side of the building, which is highly unlikely, he is lying because the video that weāve seen from the dash cam cruiser proves that he never spoke to any officers on the east side and only exited the building, two minutes after the shooting. Itās not surprising that this is a CNN article.
Because he knew where he would be stationed, and he knew the firearm that he would be using he was not assigned to a long range sniper position
