Koreas dont have peace either. Is it political tool to keep south Koreans in fear and control? As that is it commonly used for. Ceasefire to me is similar as shouldnt say your concerns and gripes as someone might hurt their emotions. But eventually that friction goes and something inflames. Crude analog is why lot of countries try to bring war casualties back home, to bring closure. Otherwise those beneath the surface emotions can flame up several generations later. I saw doc of korean peninsula… folks alive when that 1950 border happened still remember it like yesterday. And parents and grandparents tend to repeat these things to kids and grandkids.

The way the Turd has stacked the decks in the Supreme Court, the rest of the judiciary, the Senate and the RCMP, alone, mean there will be no recovery in the foreseeable future - meaning decades if not generations.
The only solution is dissolution - burn it all down and rebuild from scratch.

I’m still waiting to know where all the unaccompanied children are that have illegally been trafficked across the Southern border of the US. Particularly I’m interested to see the investigations of any missing children that were trafficked in.

Tariffs are tax, and conservatives claim to hate taxes. So, taxes are evil, but suddenly become good if someone else is paying them? Hmmm…
However, If this prompts other countries to erect tariffs against the US, then soon there are fewer goods at higher prices. Trump’s theory, or to be more honest, his advisers’ theory, is that the US will reshore jobs there. Those jobs will require workers demanding US-level pay. So, nobody will mind paying $125.00 for a basic toaster? Or they’ll just soon become so efficient at it that toasters will cost similar to what they do from China. We’ll see if that ends up bearing fruit. Colour me doubtful. Even if that works, it’ll take time. Years. It won’t happen overnight.
The US, Trump says, has all the oil it needs? Then why does it import 3 million barrels a day from Canada? Will the US drill new oilfields and build refineries by next year? Even Chris says we’re near peak oil.
I never said I liked Trudeau or any of his policies. I thought we kept it nuanced here, not black or white. I was here too during Trudeau’s reign…which feels like it never ends.
PS How is “throwing your weight around” different from what Chris calls “might is right”? From where I sit, it sounds like Americans view it as evil when other countries’ leaders do it, but apparently when your leader does it, it’s just cool because it’s good for your future.

Chris, I want to understand how you square your seemingly newfound idolization of Trump with all that you’ve written and said about climate change - it’s a major part of your updated version of Crash Course - I was just listening to it a few weeks ago. Trump is scrubbing any signs of climate research and proudly preparing to sell off and extract our public lands, including drilling for more oil. He has scrapped regulations that are in place limiting proven deadly chemicals like microplastics, etc.
How do these conflicting realities live in you? I’m genuinely curious.
